I akways wonder about this shirt number stuff. Wouldn’t it be better to give the best players high numbers like trent. Then the opposition will think they are up against the 3rd team and youngsters, no?
I’d like someone new in number 10 next season. Preferably someone who isn’t a lying, narcissistic, egocentric dick.
With Origi, Minamino and Mane leaving and only Darwin arriving I’d be surprised if we don’t sign another striker. Or forward attacker player at least.
Since this time last year, we lost Mané, Origi and Taki.
We added Diaz, Nunez and Carvalho. We aren’t short on numbers.

Doubt he changes though, suspect we go through the season without it being allocated and the see a reshuffle next summer.

Bobby may sign a new contract, then he would probably only swap the 9 for 10 (thereby getting the 9, 10 and 11 set).
Carvalho is all potential. Yes. he could break through right away (think of Elliot surprising a lot of people by being in the first eleven following his loan spell from the start of the season till his injury at Leeds). But more likely he will be a domestic cup competition player, and most of his work will be on the training pitch.
Curtis Jones just had a season that many young players will have. A bit of a dip compared to the year before. But that extra experience gained helps. I feel he will come back strongly this coming year.
Anyone buying a shirt wanting to put player details on it should really wait for the season squad number announcment (unless buying from the club store I suppose).
Can o ot think with the signings of Diaz and Darwin that we knew we were losing one of Mo or Mane this summer.

I don’t care about who is what number - but the likes of Trent and Harvey won’t be changing their numbers - the cool kids make their own numbers special to them
