Ozan KABAK: 2020/21

PL relegation > Bundesliga relegation

Also,
French League Top 3 > fucking Bundeslig relegation

I donā€™t think I even knew that let alone forgot it, good info to have. Sounds like there might be some coin tossing going on.
I still feel we would be wise to get an older more experienced CB in as cover seeing how often are NĀ°2 and 3 are injured. Also lack of game time youngsters tend to get when/if our squad is healthy.

Also noone on the opposition tries to stop him as they donā€™t want a concussion.

He looks like heā€™s carrying a small injury, just doesnā€™t seem to run very naturally the last few days.

Kabak wasnā€™t some sort of last chance signing, heā€™s been on our list awhile. Was recommended directly to Klopp from Wagner a few years ago.

They definitely announced a few weeks ago that he had something minor. I think maybe after coming back from the internationals. I agreed with you. It looks like a case of managing through whatever it is thatā€™s bothering him.

I think you overrate how good the PL is, cut the top 8-10 sides out there is plenty of dross, I think most of Germany and Spain are similar, top five of France arenā€™t bad but then you hit utter rubbish.

Heathen!!!

Everyone knows that you only need to spend 10 on youtube to be fully aware of a players strengths, weaknesses, potetial ability, personal traits and habits, family and friends with any influence, how much their club would accept - watching a player in person is totally overrated

Important to remind that we have ā€œonlyā€ have until mid-May to activate his clause if we want him.

Phillips is better in the air and even his distribution is at least as good so for me, I would let Kabak go.

Not tall or fast enough, Iā€™ll pass.

If we are buying two centre backs surely he is one especially at that price.

Itā€™s odd that he keeps being taken off. Is he carrying an injury? Was doing well against Real and taking Fabinho (and Milner) out of the midfield killed us stone dead.

There are rumours heā€™s carrying a knee injury but nothing confirmed.

I really donā€™t get the calls that Phillips is playing better than him, Kabak made 1 mistake early on against Real and then was excellent. It was his ball to Mane which lead to the massive Salah chance.

Iā€™d certainly take up the option.

He has slotted straight in to an ailing defence, provided some stability and confidence, and also been asked to play on his unfamiliar side, and also been asked to lead to the line. Heā€™s also compromised his natural game (which is to step out and attack the ball) so that Phillips can focus on that.

And heā€™s twenty.

Why anyone wouldnā€™t take up an Ā£18m option at this point is beyond me.

He made more than one mistake but as I have said elsewhere he, nat and Alisson did a good job between them all considered.
The 2 of them have different roles and different styles that to a large extent are complimentary. To directly compare them is a bit silly, just like comparing Gomez to VVD.
Iā€™ve warmed to Kabak (he was shit in his 1st few games however that was to be expected considering the lack of training time with the squad, absolutely nuts from the coaching staff) he has his strong points. Hearing the rumors that he is carrying an injury, that surely has to be managed, is disappointing as well as giving some excuse to some of his errors/mistakes. (Is he injury prone?)
Heā€™s very strong when the ball is on the ground and has good technical ability so the question is is that enough?

Thatā€™s a good point, we clearly saw that with his passing against Real. Probably a reason why Nat has become the go to CB of the 2.

Iā€™m not using it as an excuse for mistakesā€¦ Heā€™s 20ā€¦ He will make them.

Was more a response to why he keeps coming off, which he has for the last 2 games at exactly the same time.

I wasnā€™t saying you where. I am aware of his age and yes I think it is why he keeps being replaced. Itā€™s a shame as it upsets our midfield balance when Fabs goes back into the CB role, no muscle yet Milner has to start as he can not get into the rhythm quickly enough if coming on as a sub imo.

  1. Heā€™s carrying an injury. Heā€™s a centre back playing for Liverpool. Of course he fucking is.

  2. There is a clause in his loan arrangement that triggers on completion on a set number of games.

I think one is a bit more likely.

He was brought here to play because we didnā€™t have enough bodies. There is no way a clause has put in that converts an option into a committment based on appearance, and even less of a chance that itā€™s one that can get be got around by subbing him off with 90 seconds to go.
