I don’t know at what point on the road this gutless coward started swerving into people, reckon it was a little further down to where I was…it seemed odd a car (the only motionary car) would try making it’s way past a crowded area (everyone was walking up the road and he was making his way down it), but from what I saw there were people doing their best clearing a pathway down the middle of the road for the gutless coward to pass through…he wasn’t going at super crazy speed but I’d say it was 20-25MPH, it wasn’t until some lads were shouting as they were chasing after the gutless coward did people realise something really bad was transpiring. It was very upsetting, made worse when I got home and rewatched some of the clips, totally ruined my evening and emotionally will take some time to get over.

Just woke up to the news. Devastating. How to turn a massive celebration into chaos.

Quickly moved on from some social media due to disgraceful smart ass comments. TAN the place to be.

Cmon @Maria we will be watching every minute all day until you check in. And others who were there. All the best.

Police are currently holding a press conference. They have said a number of people were hospitalised, with others being treated at the scene.
Thankfully at no point did they say there were any deaths, but you would think they would have said “thankfully there were no fatalities”.
I may be reading a bit much into them leaving this out, though they did say 2 people were seriously injured, 1 a child.

They won’t say no fatalities until all of the victims have been seen and treated at hospital as they won’t know the extent of injuries that have been suffered

Safe here, didn’t hear about the incident until I was almost back. Awful. My only complaint up to that point was at not being able to get into Lime Street and having to walk to Edge Hill. Clearly, this puts a very different tenor on the day. My thoughts with all affected.

We had a great day yesterday but today despite the rain everything went smoothly but I was. Shocked to hear the awful news I hope all casualties recover quickly.

I watched another video earlier when the car was further up the road… It might even look as though the driver seemed to lose it, patience/temper/anger wise as he was trying to get people to clear a path for access.
Seemed to reverse suddenly, which hit/knocked a fan over from the impact… then rather than get out of the car, drove forwards to get away from the incident.
This led to a few fans chasing the car down, trying to get it to stop… but it continued forward, and then we know what happened with it next.
If it was a heat of the moment manoeuvre, then hopefully it rules out any pre-meditation… Which as bad as this incident is, might just be the lesser of two (other) evils.

Going to bed now after a very emotional day as a Liverpool fan.
From joy to sadness and everything in between, and I wasn’t even there.
Firstly, hoping for the best possible recovery for the victims. It’s comforting to know that they will be in very good hands and treated by the fantastic staff who work in the local hospitals.
The details of the incident will hopefully become clearer in the next few days, but it seems as if there’s no terrorist motive, and that it’s likely that some combination of panic and maybe alcohol or possibly a medical crisis caused the driver to lose control. I hope he isn’t an Everton supporter. That would be even more disastrous for the city.
Liverpool, the city, the fans and the club, will recover, it’s a very resilient place, as has been seen many times in the past.
Peace to all of you and YNWA.

6 hour queue at Lime Street… if I do ever do this again I’ll be getting a hotel in a nearby place and take the train home in the morning.

Likely London will be waking up when I get home, was worth going but yeah I need to plan it better next time.
