It would not surprise me to learn that the guy just had too much to drink, wanted to get home, and when he realized what he was doing, stopped.
Itās unfortunately very important in the current climate.
My thoughts are with you, my fellow Reds.
I hope this attack or whatever it is did little to spoil the parade. After all, it is something the players and we as fans deserve.
Yeah, it feels like that.
I know we shouldnāt speculate, but how can you stop yourself? Itās human nature.
Iām fine was at the other end of the road
Any word from @Maria ?
Not surprising. Iāve seen lots of rumour mongering already that itās āone of that lot againā.
FUCK!!
Only found out now as Iām on my way back, soaked and happyā¦until I saw this.
Anyone who claims to not at all speculate ,are lying. Many donāt voice their thoughts, but that is different.
I think what is imporant is to donāt make conclusions and certainly donāt go for the worst case scenario without extremely strong indisiums or evidence even.
But speculate, we all do. I see nothing wrong in it, as long as one does it in a some what prudent manner and seek to avoid being sensationalist.
You should be allowed to be happy. Donāt let this ruin it for you. As far as we know, no one is dead or grieviously wounded. Check in on friends though.
I am certainly glad you have had a wonderful day until now.
First of all, no deaths have been confirmed. So thatās a good thing.
Second, it appears emergency responders were quick to act. These people are heroes. They may save lives.
Finally, the counter terror police are involved. IMHO thatās not necessary, but the police have to consider all possibilities.
If thereās one good thing, itās that the driver wasnāt going too fast. One piece of critical information I learned in the back of a New York City cab is that the rate of fatalities accelerates at a logarithmic pace when a car is traveling at 50 km/h and above. IOW a car striking a pedestrian going 60 km/h has something like a 10x probability of killing someone than a car striking a pedestrian going 40 km/h. It didnāt look like the car was traveling fast when it hit pedestrians.
When the fog clears, there are injured Liverpool supporters who are going to need help. I would implore the site owners and moderators to please post links where we can donate to help these people.
This shows the mood of the fans, but not the incident itself.
Iāve just read online there are videos from before the collisions showing he was just acting like an impatient/frustrated driver, honking his horn at the crowd, trying to get through.
How the fuck did we end up here then??
Fucking hell, praying no-one has been killed or has lasting injuries.
My eldest daughter started ringing me frantically to see if I was okay as she saw the news on the bbc.
And there were little kids everywhere!!
Still no reports of any deaths.
Heard some eyewitness accounts that he was trying to force his way through the crowd, people got angry and he panicked and tried to speed off but lost control of the car.
This seems to be the most likely scenario.
