Post match: Forest v Liverpool (EPL 14/1/25 8pm)

The draw/loss thing is a reasonable observation (obviously not 100% accurate because 1 point is better than 0 points!) but if you take it to mean that too many draws will kill you, it is spot on.

My hope is that this will prove to be our bad spell. 12 points from 21. 3 wins and 4 draws. Not disastrous, but not great either.

Time to get back to winning ways and keep a healthy gap to the chasing pack.

Its broken record time…
I watched the foul(s) on Mo Salah in the penalty incident again today.
If thats Grealish, Saka, Madison, Palmer its a penalty every occasion.
I know Kavanagh gives us nothing, Brooks on VAR isnt reasonable for us…but fucking hell that was stonewall.

I agree Sandy, and I just don’t get the lack of protests by us. Any other team would have been up in arms. We just shrug and play on.

First half was a continuation of the Anfield game where we were clueless and could do nothing, we improved but not able to do enough to stop us dropping 2 points.

I’m guessing because we’ve been conditioned to expect yellow cards for that…

Nottingham was a tough match as expected. A draw was not unthinkable.

But this does shows maybe we need one more striker. Let’s sell Nunez now off the back of his two goal performance. He is fool’s gold and just has never developed in Liverpool but he might somewhere else. If we can get 70-80m pounds for him we would be fools to pass up the opportunity to sell and then invest that in a player who can score some goals for us in the back half of the season.

Yeah clubs really work like that… I know pundits think one result means the world but I think it’s lot harder than that.

We scored 14 in three games a couple of weeks ago.

If we get Ā£80m for him, that suggests what others have said. Good strikers are at a bit of premium at the minute, and there aren’t many about. Newcastle feel bold enough to demand Ā£150m for Isak.

Unless there is a deal to be done, I would keep him for now. I think the chances of him going anywhere in Jan are not far off zero.

In comparison to winning the PL this year I really don’t give a shit about how much money we get for him. And given we’re not going to get another striker this window then we’ve more chance of winning the league with Darwin in the squad, as he proved on Saturday

Yes
But none of them were scored by Isak or someone shiny

Absolutely. And precisely why there is no way we can let Trent leave in January despite some crazy talk on here a couple of weeks back.

Yup, I said we let no one leave in this window bar potentially McConnell and I’m not even sure about that to be honest.

Trent’s influence on the win has gone a bit under-the-radar because of Darwin’s goals but he showed a lot of driving force for us late in the game - boundless energy and constantly trying to be positive. Great run for the assist on the first goal. My Peacock died just as Elliott spotted his run and I shouted ā€œTHAT’S A GOAL!ā€ as the stream died. Trent in that position is lethal.

Strangely I don’t remember any of this at all…

Sorry to hear about the peacock. Are they edible?
