Post match: Fulham v Liverpool (EPL 4/1/26 3.00pm)

Spot on with the mentality. This group looks nervous and you can see the frenzied decision making late in games.

I’d take any improvement or any sign that were heading in the right direction, but at the moment I can’t think if a single thing that we do well.

What I think we can take from that game, and what I said in game that I was desperate to see us do, is they got over conceding the goal and got themselves back in the game. For the first time in a very long time, Slot had a good half time.

We were so, so close to taking three points from a game we found ourselves behind in. That would have been a big psychological step.

Good point. That second half was the first time we’ve looked better after the break for quite some time.

There were two interesting things about the way we defended on that goal. First is that Virgil did step out in recognition but no one followed him. At the point the ball went in he was a good 5 yards ahead of everyone else. That is really bad. Second is if you go back about 5 mins before an almost identical one happened with a similar lack of response from us. Not only are we not responding to things the way we should be, we aren’t even learning lessons.

The bravery in our game has completely disappeared, especially with the way we defend.

For a short period I became quite excited. Down that right side we were pushing hard. Bradley who looked absolutely dead was just pulling out incredible interceptions and stuff. We were winning 50:50 balls and second balls (things we haven’t seen for what feels like a life time). We equalised and poof all that good hard work out the window.
It’s evident our players are much better in chaotic situations rather than these slow boring plodding ones. You know this heavy metal football.

When we plod the ball goes to feet we wait for the ball watching it come whilst the opposition attacks the ball and wins it back. We never pass Infront of our player to run onto which means Robertson, Kerkez, Bradley and Frimpong have nothing to work with they have to do it all themselves. (This used to work to some extent with Salah but as we have seen this season even he cannot do anything with the pace we play at).
The fact we don’t even do the simple thing which is attack the ball asks big questions about training and how easy those sessions must be.

Yes the French call it traitement aux ventouses using little glass cups then put a small flame inside them to suck the cup onto your body. It is another alternative therapy like acupuncture, whether it works I am not sure and those marks on Gakpos back are not very nice .

We already got a massive warning from a Fulham short throw at around 79 mins. Robinson was originally setting up for a long throw, but opted for a short one. Our shape was all over the place, with Kevin totally free at the edge of the box. It was Wilson that block the shot rather than from our players.

Never learned.

Alas…

Yeah, thats the one I alluded to.

Unrelated, how do you get the screen shots? Every service I have blocks me from taking screen shots so I have to do an annoying and shit workaround of taking a pic of my laptop screen with my phone, then email it to myself

I just use the Windows Snipping tool to take the screenshot. Nothing fancy.

Edit…It’s now renamed as Snip & Sketch.

I have tried that and a couple of premium tools I have through work and they all seem to blocked by Youtubetv and peacock. Whatever you snip when watching those comes up as a blank screen

For YouTube, are you using browser? I use Firefox, and normally I put it in PIP mode to grab a screenshot using Windows Snip & Sketch.

YoutubeTV is in my browser (chrome) and peacock is the app. I’ll play around and see if I can better configs that allow me to screengrab :+1:

Here is my screen grab from latest LFC Youtube video from the match yesterday using the same tool, without even using the Firefox PIP feature:

Forgot to mention that I have to save the screenshot and upload the file, instead of using a link.

They have 3 v 2 and also Reed in the area of the ball, we are mentally traumatised regarding conceding from crosses and set pieces and have just collapsed into our area defensively.

Really poor from a coaching point of view and from the players both tactically and metality wise.

Fear is ruling their cognitive thinking.

You should be able to do screenshots from your phone and youtube. That’s what I do.

I don’t know why I’m telling you this. You only post screenshots to tell me I’m wrong.

Wrong!

He tells you that he believes you’re wrong, so you are wrong about being wrong and are just wrong from his belief that you are wrong and now has you believing you are wrong, which is wrong in itself.

:face_blowing_a_kiss:

at least he puts in the effort… the rest of us just tell you that you are wrong…

So, the best thing about this match was it provoked a fascinating discussion on screenshot editing.
