No complaints overall, some of the passing is a joy to watch.

And the way we manage the game when up is good. Dom you are a beautiful fucker but wake up when they get a throw.

Diaz is back to how he was.

Mbeumo needs a tactic that is more to than throw yourself to the floor.

Only complaint is that we should have scored 4 goals. That would reflect the dominance in the second half more.

Brentford had no answers to our moves.

It’s kinda nice to watch a game and just feel relaxed and calm about things. Rather pleasant lol

Excellent second half again after a so and so first. Some lovely patterns of play and renewed focus on the defensive side the game.

Overall, lots to like, although it’s clear that we are a work in progress. We will only get better as time passes by.

Liverpool recorded a 92% pass completion in Arne Slot’s first game in charge at Anfield, their highest recorded amount since records began over 20 years ago

A lot to chew on about this game, tactically.
Knew Brentford would pose tactical questions, but the way we looked to solve this was at times simply deliciosos…

Mo Salah became the outright top Premier League goalscorer against Brentford, netting his sixth goal against the Bees in the league. The Egyptian has been directly involved in 128 goals in 128 league appearances at Anfield for Liverpool (93 goals, 35 assists).

Just amazing Mo

I was generally impressed by that. Slot seems to be bringing out the best in some players.

Díaz is a case in point. I think he is our most gifted dribbler, but he has often been a headless chicken. He now seems far more direct and a real threat on the counter.

So far, so good. Off to the theatre of no drains next.

I was thinking this, just seems so more effective than I remember him especially the last 1-2 seasons.

Anyhow the season we nearly won the title in Rodgers we won the first three 1-0, maybe we will go one better with a host of 2-0s.

Third match there was also Man Utd.

Was a bit disappointed with Szobo not releasing the ball on some attacking moves, but could also be part of the game model, as you saw same thing happen when Elliott came on…

Last season if we’d had an indifferent first half we’d have gone behind and had to claw our way back into the game - we usually did tbf. That hasn’t happened in our first two matches; no goals conceded at all after really good second halves. We are controlling and dominating the play overall with a much more deliberate tempo. More of the same at the toilet please :+1:
