The gameplay is awful. This team stinks. End of srason can’t come soon enough.
A good start for a change. Got the lead. Good power in it by Grav which allowed it to sneak it despite being quite central. VVD then had an excellent chance to double it. Needed to try to guide the ball softly.
First 20 minutes I tought we were good. Curtis at right back can build form the back, though of course defensively he was exposed at times. Then we backed off for 10 to 15 minutes.
The crowd showed their displeasure during this period. Trying to encourage the players to be more progressive with the ball. Grav got done in the free kick. Needed to be stronger, which would then have been an easy clearance. Instead, the ball trickled into the net.
Cody was anonymous. Rio coming off with Cody staying caused the crowd to show their displeasure. Chiesa actually came on without the kitchen sink being deployed for a change.
A draw was probably the right result in the end, with two flawed teams having a go. Alexis has been out of form but I liked his aggression today.
New ads for anti-antidepressant:
“Are you feeling too cheerful and chirpy? Get up and watch LFC play under Slot! It will give you sadness and despair.”
“Side effects include losing your voice with screaming at the team and Slot; intense headache from constantly slapping palm at your forehead or banging against the wall, ears ringing with bullshit spewed by the head coach.”
The early goal by an unlikely scorer really conceals just how dismal that was
Gakpo was the one gave up the stupid free kick. Instead of redeeming himself with strong defensive play, he did not stay with the Chelsea player (even though he did not really touch the ball, but it was a distraction for Mamadashvilli,)

George Lucas didn’t look impressed .
There just isn’t anything to say about that hasn’t been said 10-15 times. We’re not a good side and there is no indication anywhere that we’ve got an idea of how to get out of this funk with the current set up.
Just get this damn season over with and then give me some reason to think pre season (which I’ve paid a fortune to go and watch in NYC) is a turning of the page
I was just venting. I’m the last person to claim that we need 10 new players like some of the calls I’ve seen here and elsewhere.
It still doesn’t change the fact that their levels of effort and commitment have been disgraceful for large parts of the season though, Slot or no Slot.
There are a good few players out there today who for various reasons are no longer good enough for us. Age, fitness, injury record, or just never were good enough. Too many to replace in one summer sadly..
No matter who is manager next season I suspect it might take at least three or four transfer windows to fully rectify. Patience from supporters will be required, something generally lacking for most. I am well into my 8th decade but still I take the long view. Buckle up.
Arne Slot on the reaction to subbing Ngumoha: “He was having problems with his muscles and when I asked him he said he was not sure he could continue. I knew this would be the reaction because he is such a good player. So often in football, people don’t know everything. I am the manager and I need to make decisions.”
Well sure…
Edit
Edwards won’t like that.
I’ve given up shouting at the telly now. In fact, my wife simply thinks we have a disappointing midfielder called Fer Fuksayk.
Aye, a different team with a different manager.
Coaching another team = “we will be a different team next season”.

I think fans will be patient if they can see the manager’s vision like they did with Klopp’s first season.
Before this season, most of them were considered good enought to be Premier League champions and after we had the “best transfer window ever” (and yes, I know that it is a truth with modifications and that we also lost ppl), we should have won the league.
It is impossible that all of them becomes collectively destroyed as players. If that is indeed the case, then the blame for such a spectacular loss of not only form but also skill, is only on Arne Slot and his team and no one else.
What I am trying to say, is that if you are indeed right, and we need more than 1-2 transfer windows to rectify this (and it’s possible you are right), then that is mismanagement of our squad, player skills, passion, morale and so on, on a galactic level and would be beyond irredeemable by those responsible.
