Reality check for many people here? Our squad is worse than what we had on paper at the start of least season so what are we expecting when Iraola has to do some rotation.

Iraola has a big job on his hands trying to deslotatise this team, mentality was poor…never looked like scoring. How Dom and Flo played the 90 is a disgrace. Kerkez for Tsimi was an absolute waste of a sub, Nyoni should be starting in this team.
Isak Flo and Barcola should be making Fulham look like mugs, instead we made them look like prime Milan.

I think the biggest issue, as much as I don’t want it to be, is the lack of presence from Wirtz. Having only 2 in midfield is killing us when the ball isn’t sticking up front.

First big test for Iraola? League game after a midweek European match.
I think I can see what he was trying, but the point of rotation is that you win both games. I’ll chalk this one up to a learning curve, but some of those midweek games will be followed by an away game against someone good.
I’m hoping that his improved training regime will help going forward.

Our build up play for 60 mins consisted of Grav on his own in a sea of white shirts in midfield. Jacquet would try to slide a pass into a player much further up, would get intercepted, then everything would be running back. Rinse and repeat.
Finally started to pass the ball around after the 60 min subs, as Iraola abandoned the Dom consistently standing on the touchline instruction.
Wirtz, Barcola and Isak didn’t do much. Isak at times had a chance to run off the last shoulder but instead tried to come in to take the pass at his feet. Needs to do more.
Two wins and two losses is better than four draws. Especially at home, need to be on the front foot.
We are still unbeaten this season.

To be expected given our failure to buy any midfielders this summer. No magic tactics will fix this any time soon.
Can’t understand why Nyoni doesn’t get a chance.
Said in the match thread. We need to play Mac and Nyoni, drop grav and szobo and actually try to play through midfield and Wirtz, or we drop Wirtz and play a midfield three and try battle our way to results. We can’t continue like this.
But all this was entirely predictable and will continue all season. Hopefully our front 4 can get us results.
Jacquet good again. Really pleased with him still. Mac was decent when he came on. A few bright sparks

Does a player like Wirtz work at Lfc?
We got all our sucess when we sold Countinho (wirtz like) and changed to three grafters in Hendo, Gini and Fabinho with Millie as well.
We cannot have a floating wirtz when the midfield behind him is so unbalanced

I know this wont be how people see it it will be Grav or Doms fault but how did Wirtz got the 90 minutes is baffling. He was supposedly signed to be the man to unlock defences at the minute i wouldn’t trust him to unlock his own front door.

Not too surprising, as Fulham have looked good this season, even though the points don’t show that, plus they had a full week to prepare. Whereas our boys are still coming together, and had a tough oponent in the CL midweek.
