These come to Anfield a month from today. Don’t think I’ve been less optimistic about us getting a result against them in a while. They’ve been fortunate with injuries up to Eriksen but they’ve looked way more cohesive than we have since the Old Trafford game (hard to believe we smashed them 5-0 and 4-0 last year). Before Klopp there were a few years where they’ve been better but we got results (08-09, 09-10, 10-11) and I guess that’s saying something given where we were at the halfway point of 10-11. Of course, things can change quickly — it’s always possible that we turn up and get a result at home, but I am not optimistic at the moment.

That was massive team play. Can only think of two glaring errors. Elliott gives the ball away in the first half. Alisson’s error in the second. Other than that, perfection. I need at least five MOTM votes. All three forwards, Hendo and Robbo.

When we’re playing well we just sort of clean up the errors as we go into the next phase of play. See Fabs having to win the ball back 3 times in one play in the lead up to the second goal. To me that seemed to be the difference today - the ball just seemed to keep finding its way to Hendo and Fab’s feet.

Looked back to our best today, hopefully now with less games to play within a week allowing more recovery time we can hunt down that top four and even leapfrog man u into 3rd, this resulst has got to install confidence back to the team, come on onwards and upwards
