This cannot go on. Slot cannot turn it around or find the right formation or playing style. I see only one solution: dismiss him and find another manager.

There was, yet again, a hole in the centre of midfield when we didn’t have the ball

I will say it again. Slot won with klopps team. As those players had klopps identity and mentality instilled in them. And when klopp brought in players. Those players fit that mold.

Slot doesn’t have an identity. And some of the players brought in dont fit how we played last season…
We had loads of cash and just bought the best players available regardless of price.

And now add the pressure to play the high priced players like Isak over Hugo. And now we got ourselves a huge mess.

I expect a player being paid what he does and his standard to have a better touch than he did, just poor quality.

Explain this tactic to me

You get the ball into the box, instead of fashioning a quick shot or header, you proceed to pass it in and out of the box, but too slowly and lose it and the opponent counterattacks with your players out of position.

This happened repeatedly in the second half.

And you’ll be wrong again.

I watched the game with an old friend. We started to watch subdued in regards to expectations, but kept the spirit up with tragicomic jokes regarding our (Liverpool’s) lethality, as well as shittalking and jokes about our college years together.

Into the second half, we decided a bit jokingly to start appreciating every good Forest play. I had a good time, but that was only because I finally got to visit Terje again (he has been very ill).

Something else we talked about, other than the boring way we play and the utter lack of lethality, is this:

But next game. It’s getting late now for Arne though. I really fucking wish he can turn this around, but I don’t really believe so personally. I don’t think the club will sack him either, so there is that. He spent a massive fortune on 2 super expensive players, but our team doesn’t look very strong; at all. It has no identity and also plays rather boring football, which doesn’t exactly help when you don’t manage to score goals.

But I do think we will secure Europe. We have, or should have, too good individual players to not some how get a needed winning streak for 6-7 place.

But who knows ? Maybe I will eat my hat and walk the long road to Canossa, having been utterly wrong ? I hope so.

Bleak…shit street…embarrassing…what else can I say…

That’s comforting

Wait @Magnus what do you hope to be wrong about? That Arne can turn us around or that we will make it to the CL spots?

Coz at the moment I can’t see either happening. It looked bad in real life. We are very shaky at the back and very indecisive and blunt up front.

A fatal combination.

I hope to be extremely wrong about the turning us around bit.

I don’t believe he can (I also don’t think he will get sacked unless we are in the relegation zone and relegation is a posibility, which is totally unrealistic since we have too good individualists for that to come to pass), but fervently wish to be extremely wrong and eat a ton of humble pies.

I want to gorge on humble pies so much…

Ps. By European placement, I didn’t really mean UCL.

Pps. I hope to be right about managing at least to get a Conference League spot. That I want to be right about.

For some reason I felt uneasy before this game…and during the first half I felt sick…you could sense the panic in the crowd…you sense the panic in the team…I’ve been with this team for over 55 years…and I’m not leaving now…we’ve been thru dire times…this could be the lowest…I think we’re so used to winning , that this feels horrible…cmon boys we fans deserve better…

I think there’s only one solution to this.

Yeh, get the whisky out and numb the pain.

Told you our football isn’t the best example at this moment

6 losses in the last 7 premier league games is crazy.

If Everton beat Man United on Monday by more than 1 goal they will be above us in the table. I think that will be the first time since around 1986? That’s how crap our season has been so far.
