You know what’s awesome about this title stroll? We haven’t even peaked. The 2nd half of the season showed we still have plenty of room for improvement and the right investment in summer, we come back stronger and go back-to-back.

The alcoholic red nosed egotistical twat undid it himself for vanity reasons. He didn’t want anyone having success directly after him. That’s why he ran the team into the ground and was the driving force behind the Moyes appointment.

I wouldn’t say he deliberately did it to limit the success of the next manager. I think it was more that he didn’t want to rebuild in his final years which would limit his own success.
So I don’t see it as scorched earth, but more super selfish and needing to feed his own ego with some tail-end titles and push the continuity problem onto the next manager.
