However we phrase it, we had three centre backs one of who is prone to knocks and niggles. We knew that at times we’d be left with Virgil and Joe plus Fabinho as an option despite not really having played there much before.
At the time it seemed like an unnecessary risk. In hindsight it’s been a nightmare of a decision.
Despite Fab doing a good job, we’ve deprived ourselves the best DM in the league to help protect a far from first choice pair of centre backs.
Just think we’ve tried to be a bit too clever on that one and we’ve been burnt with the worst possible case scenario.

No one is nailed on imo. In a normal season without all these injuries I think we’d have walked it, but not in this situation. We did remarkably well to be at this point with almost no fit CBs and many others, but it’ll be a slog until the end.

Bit difficult, seeing he wasn’t on the bench.

Add him to the list of half a dozen more that are constantly injured or just don’t offer enough coming off the bench.
Have to disagree with this. A totally different WBA turned up for the second half.
Fat Sam’s tactical genius: making his players hungry… by forcing them to watch him shovel pies down his throat at half-time.
Masterclass.

Amazed at how ho hum a lot of people seem about this draw. It wasn’t a loss, but WBA are a team that many expected we would put to the sword. It really fucks me off how ineffective we are against sides who set up like this. Whenever there was a sniff of being able to move the ball around at pace, we seemed to want to slow it down and pass it around the edge of the box.
TAA and Mo were absolute shite today. As soon as someone sticks close to Mo and he is given no room to move, his attacking threat has gone. Struggles big time to play with his back to goal.
Situations like this we need someone like Thiago or Keita and we really missed Jota in this one as well.
Someone like Ox who can shoot from outside the box should have been brought on a lot sooner. No point in persisting with an ineffective Mo.
Time to get rid of Matip. Excellent player, but no use to anyone if he can’t play more than 2-3 games in a row without getting injured. A lot to be said for resilience and Matip has none. Keita almost in the same boat and a player I really wanted to see do well.
What fucks me off the most probably is the wank fest that goes on whenever that Fat Cnut gets one over the big teams. If I hear another “The Sam Allardyce effect” comment, I’m going to vomit.

No. I have a different opinion to you. That’s allowed, and there is no need to be unpleasant.

Maybe that with a combination of our dressing room patting each other on the back about how they dismantled the bus.
Gomez is not injury prone he just picks up a lot of injuries.

We need to put Matip, Gomez, Ox, Keita, Shaq into a wet paper bag and only play whoever can escape.

The real issue is that he picks up injuries while he is picking up injuries.

Can’t blame Sam really. We just knew what was coming and fell into the trap. Salah was poor. Once Matip went off they were all over us and Curtis Jones was stupid to pass it back there. He did the hard part and then the extravagant flick cost us. Between Nat Philips and Rhy I would pick Nat just because Rhy on more than few occasions isn’t getting his headers right. His timing on his jumps are a big off and he misses the ball. I am not pointing to the goal but in general. It was Curtis mistake and Rhy did the right thing there. Having said this we could have brought in our subs after 60 minutes and could have utilized Ox’s pace and long distance shooting instead of Curtis Jones. Not sure what Klopp was waiting for when they grew into the game.
The outcome of this game was decided 10 days ago when Sam was appointed and that’s what hurts most.
We knew what to expect. We had a very good first half. Whatever happened at halftime is Klopps fault.

We are drawing too many games against shit.

It’s not Klopp’s fault Matip is made of Cheshire cheese or Curtis Jones played like a 9 year old.

The outcome was decided when the players failed to show up in the second half. We played really well in the first half. Why didn’t they play the same way or even better the second half?

It’s Mane’s fault for missing a hatrick of chances.
Gomez has had a couple of really bad ones that have kept him out for a long time. Matip gets regular niggly ones that keep him out for a few weeks at a time.
Gomez doesn’t tend to suffer from the pills and strains that blight Matip. But as far as I know, Matip hasn’t had a serious ACL type injury that’s fine him for a year or more. Swings and roundabouts.

Slightly annoyed by some of the posts on here tonight to be honest.
Rhys William’s has gone great to shite despite doing nothing wrong.
Our summer business was shit as if we could predict VvD being assaulted and Gomez just being unlucky.
Fabinho is all of a sudden a crap centre half again after doing nothing wrong.
Tactically and performance wise we were off this evening. It happens. It will happen again, especially in this fucked up season of horrors. I’m pretty sure Klopp will have his reasons for things not going to plan tonight but honestly there’s no need to panic throw out the toys. Everton are second offs. When did that last happen with a goalie that can’t reach the cross bar and winger that looks better suited to being a F1 car.
