Post Match - Liverpool Vs Arsenal (1-0)

He has been paired up on that wing with Trent for years so he will have to get used to a new partner. The fact we have had multiple players at RB so far doesn’t help.

I think he will get better service once the new guys start to anticipate his runs or position themselves better for his crosses.

Don’t get carried away.
It’s only the second time Slot managed to beat a team above him

It’s not the service that concerned me. It’s what Mo himself did and didn’t do.

In the pub when their lineup dropped, we were all pretty certain that the only way they’d score would be a set piece (we all expected that to happen tbh). No creativity in their midfield, no real goal threat in attack. They’ll never win a league like that, even if they nearly did get the draw they came for.

One good thing about Arteta getting all these negative comments, even from his own fanbase, means when they play the Cheaters shortly, he might go all out attack to take the 3points… Win Win for us if Fraudiola is languishing in the bottom half of the table for as long as possible

Kop was buzzing yesterday but other stands seemed quiet/tense. Arsenal fans started singing ‘Allez, Allez, Allez’ then the entire stadium seemed to take offence and stood up to sing it. Incredible noise that seemed to kick start the team

It’s common, when people say the ground is quiet it’s rarely the Kop.

Gary Neville’s post-match podcast from Anfield was a pretty good reading of the game. He pinpointed the moment the crowd started to really get behind the lads as when he knew we were going to win it.

Dreadfully played corner. What was Dom doing?

Saw Rooney on MotD for the first time.

Wtf?! They could have just picked any old drunk from any old pub. Thought Hart was ok though.

Unpopular opinion, but I like Neville as a pundit. Of course, his Man U bias comes through at times, but his points are generally fair and more intelligent than most. This is a good example.

I’ve only really seen him doing studio stuff before , and a lot of that is clearly performative , and off the mark. But yeah , live from Anfield , I thought he was refreshingly honest and on the money.

The thing with Neville and a lot of other pundits, especially Shearer, they show their ignorance, or laziness maybe, by not doing their background checks/homework, on comments both good and bad, of the players they criticise.
The Sobo goal is a prime example of this… anyone that has researched the player, would have already known, Slob has been scoring free-kick ‘stunners’ like that since he was a teenager.
Sometimes, or most of the time really… the pundits talk shite and try to polish up their statements with the odd cherry thrown on top…!
For the money the pundits are paid, we should rightly expect at least a decent ‘thought-out’ summation of events. Instead, we have a stream of punditry where most just like the sound of their own voice..!

I don’t think I had seen the Carragher/Neville pair until I saw them when I watched the Newcastle match in Dublin. I found them both to be a massive pain in the backside.

Hart was decent on the goalkeeping positioning though I think did over rate Raya slightly.

Oh by the way the music that delivered Dom’s goal was Bears in Trees, a bit of an odd ball indie band.

Neville lost a lot of credibility when he picked United to finish above Liverpool last year.
