Most gratifying win of the season. Must win against the mancs at their ground and not only we show up, we score 4. When was the last time the front 3 scored in the same game?
Anyway, it has been lost in a sea of late equalizers and ordinary performances but there have been positives signs as well in recent weeks. Fluidity has been largely restored for one. We are creating chances again. And we are having periods here and there during which we are as sharp and as dominant as we used to be. They don’t last for long as we remain inconsistent and are still lacking in confidence but against the mancs for once we put it together for most of the 90 minutes.
The main issue now is to keep it up for the last three games which come in the space of 10 days. We are close to salvaging a top 4 finish don’t screw it up now.
Mane shrugging Klopp off shouldn’t be made more than what it was. He was angry and he reacted poorly. If Klopp has no problem with it, then neither should we. That said, he should have channeled his frustration into playing better when he came on instead of providing the media with material to harp on.
Well, I can’t tell you the difference, I don’t know what’s a foul or what is considered a good tackle anymore. As for the handball rule? I’m totally confused.
Can anyone question you without you kicking off? You are more interested in proving your theories on corruption above enjoying a win, that is very sad.
Taylor is a shit ref, they are all shit refs. Disgraceful, hardly just inconsistent i.e. poor. You love a bit of hyperbole eh.
He really showed himself up there. If you can’t even celebrate a crucial team win away at our greatest rivals because you feel you’ve been personally slighted , then you really can’t call yourself a team player.
Bit too harsh on Mane here, need to cut him some slack.
Such small instances shouldn’t let the opinion about him to be changed so drastically. It’s football, ofcourse things get heated up. He didn’t do anything to harm anybody and he’s been more of a team player then we could even imagine. He’s a wonderful human being and probably one of the most selfless guys off the pitch as well. It’s not even a discipline issue like missing a training on purpose and so on.
The media is there to spin such stories, we can really let it go.
Speak for yourself. It’s just a childish strop and he’s probably as annoyed with his own form. For some reason we expect players to have no emotions just because they get paid so much. I remember many games where Mane was our best attacker and defender, with a work rate like I’ve never witnessed on a football pitch before
Fair enough…
Courtesy costs nothing though, especially toward the guy that has turned him into the player he has become… Putting it into context though, when top 4 and CL qualification has been hanging by a thread for months… to show such petulance after his colleagues (team mates) had just overcome a massive hurdle at the end of such an important game… what does that say about sacrificing self interest for the good of LFC… that is what disappointed me the most.!
Oh, give over. Sky are doing their best to make a mountain out of a molehill. Let’s not join in.
Sadio was pissed off he wasn’t playing. As Klopp said, it was a late call. It will have all been sorted out after the game. I absolutely guarantee that Klopp would much prefer Sadio to be kicking off and stropping about not starting the Utd game than just shrugging his shoulder and saying ‘sure, whatever boss’.
I don’t think it says anything. He’s one of our most selfless players. He was clearly pissed off that didn’t get picked, and at his own form. Probably all fine on training pitch today. Would rather see passion than apathy
I felt keeping Williams in defence and Fabinho in midfield was the right way to go and so it proved.
The stats are clear - the two matches we’ve dropped points recently were with Fabinho in defence and not midfield.
Can’t really criticise Nat for the goal, the lad did his best and it happens. Similarly, Alisson is looking ropey on occasion, but we’re still lucky to have a keeper of his quality.
Pleased to see Bobby bag a couple, that forward line is our best. Sorry Sadio, you can have no complaints, you’ve been bang average for much of this season, not to mention your petulance and giving free kicks away in dangerous places.
Top four is still difficult, although our remaining opponents have little to play for they will still give us a game as all sides do against us.
The biggest worry I have right now is fatigue and injuries. We’re one centre back injury from Fab going back into defence, and with Milner, Keita, Hendo and Oxlade missing, we have one midfield change available beyond the starters. Jones is not someone I want to see playing much during the next crucial matches.
Just got to hope Kabak and the unavailable midfielders bar Hendo are available soon.
I’ve got no problem with him being disappointed or angry about being benched, no problem at all. What I do have a problem with is his public display of petulance and ignoring Klopp. If you think that’s ok, so be it.
I wouldn’t call Phillips a penalty but the problem is both Brighton and Everton were similar and both were given, in fact Brighton was given based on VAR.
Didn’t see the McTominay must have been the couple of mins I went for a cup of tea unless it was the first 20 minutes I missed.
Pfizer jab knocked me out so you can put the whole start on me for sleeping through, I woke around about the penalty. And put it on moments after Jota scored.
Taylor for me should have carded more and the handball which I’ve not reviewed but as I said I have issues with consistency here. Also if Taylor was really trying to screw us over he could easily have given Penandes far more than he did.
I’ve seen far worse referee displays against us this season, far worse. If the handball is a handball then again that’s at the feet of Tierney who really is an issue with us.
The issue I have is that though their defender got (seem to get?) the ball, to me it is dangerous play and so would probably have been given as a foul anywhere else. Its a lunge, he wasn’t in control and his studs were up. Should it have been a penalty from that view point?
