Post Match: Midtjylland vs Liverpool |(UCL 9/12/20 6pm)

Criticising Klopp for not selecting his strongest teams in two games on consecutive days is really scraping the barrel.

That situation is indicative of the ridiculous scheduling Klopp argues against, not a valid criticism of him.

Also, people starting to take the broadcasters side with regards to Klopp not playing an u23s side in Denmark. When Klopp said he was playing an u23 side against Shrewsbury it was BT Sport who threw a strop and decided they wouldn’t broadcast it despite the interest from fans. Klopp was vilified by countless people in the media, and now he’s a hypocrite for picking a strong (not really though, still the youngest team we’ve ever put out in the competition) side in the Champions League.

It’s a tough spot to be in, he can’t win either way. I’m pretty happy with what he’s doing though.

‘Welfare of our players’

Christ on a bike, give it a rest, how ridiculous, jotas got a swollen knee, he’s not been asked to go down the mines…

Could you stretch out the issue further … so you’d recommend leaving firmino plus a few others out of the whatever cup it was, to play vs villa in the league cup, to then get on a plane, to rejoin the squad to play the next round… to argue that playing Midgetland in the CL is a direct resemblance to that villa tie in the league cup is just pure fantasy… to forget about the fact we had a seperate first team game a day or so later is forgivable, but to have it pointed out then double down on it suggesting we split the squad up… how bout we stick, even loosely, to the facts…

Yeh I know, the point was that even if we lost this game 7-0, it wouldn’t have changed a thing.

Take Shrewsbury then, that was an official first team game too, but we literally sent the U23s including their coach to make a point that we really needed that two week break. Now we had a chance to have a much needed one week break in a much harder situation with a much longer injury list but we passed, and we’ll probably pay for it. Maybe, hopefully it won’t matter in the end but it was still a stupid move imo, each to their own.
