Plenty of negatives but also some positives. Desperately need reinforcements. Decent debuts from Jacquet and Munoz.
Brilliant pen under that pressure. Some of the abuse Szobo gets here is pathetic.
Onwards and upwards.
p.s. don’t sell Gakpo!
Well, we weren’t boring.
I knew within the first 5 minutes that the ref was going to annoy me. He wasnt biased, he just broke the rhythm of the game too much.
NGUMOHA = Extremely ineffective, weakest on the field.
WIRTZ = Ineffective.
ISAK = Ineffective.
PASSING = Average.
PRESSING = Average.
GAKPO= Can’t sell. Excellent.
NEW WINGER = Wouldn’t have solved this game
MUNOZ = Way, way more effective than Rio.
GRAVENBERCH = Good.
JAQUET = Very good.
REST = Better than Rio, and I might have mentioned this already, extremely ineffective.
Overall we were very poor against a very weak Newcastle side.

Good result.We gain a point on United,Villa and Spurs.These are the teams we will be competing with.Forget about a title race.
Just a sense of relief really, snatching a point from the verge of defeat means ending with a note of some positivity, at least.
But clearly plenty of work to be done, both in the transfer market and on the training pitch.
Main positives are I thought Jacquet had a decent full debut, and Munoz looked very bright when he came on, before obviously winning the critical penalty. Beyond that I’m struggling a bit.
But, onwards and upwards.
Was expecting worse to be honest. Few decent performances and unfortunately a couple poor ones.
Think we won’t hit full gear until September/October time really. Just need to keep picking up points and no injuries to destabilise us.
Content with the result.
All the worries and doubts about our team I have had over the summer and the last year are what I saw today. A team that does not fit together.
But it is is what it is. This is the squad we have. Just hopefully Iraola can get a good balance and get them to play above their level or at least be very organised and hard working. Jacquet and Muñoz showed some positives. Oh and Araujo
Decision making in attacking third was fucking awful.
Midfield tracking was non existent.
Defensively poor.
Was Isak playing?
Kerkez is a sloth.
Extremely lucky point despite more possesion.
Probably just about deserved on valance of play, but some big worries.
Attacking edge just isn’t there. We desperately need signings - two forwards to get over the line, preferably ones that can contribute this side of the international break. Can’t help but feel Iraola is making a point by throwing in Koumas.
We look generally OK defending deep, but incredibly vulnerable to the counter.
True, no chance we catch Brighton and their +4 goal difference.
I dont think anyone came into this season expecting much on the trophy front, but surely a bit early to give up entirely
Jaquet was good. Araujo was very good in the air after coming on.
Gakpo needs to stay in all honesty. He’s a one trick pony but it gets goals and has done on a consistent level.
Munoz looks a better pick at RW until a natural players comes in which is a shame for Rio but he can’t play that role. Hall found it so easy to defend him.
Isak and Wirtz… Don’t want to get too kneejerk as they’ll get a full season and there were unique circumstances to Isak playing at Newcastle but both not good enough today. A 2nd season is going to be judged hard and there needs to be an improvement in the physical aspects of their game.
Koumas showed a lot of great energy when coming on. Direct and without fear.
Big week for us in the market.
A big, big point at a place i’m glad to be rid of for the rest of the season.
Could figure out if this was the case or if Alanga is ridiculously quick.
I think we need someone who can control the middle, we don’t have that.
Both are true
He absolutely is, one of, if not the quickest player in the league.
This was a Slot team trying to get to grips with a new system after 2 years.
It will take time and it will require patience, but it will get better. Until then, we need to pick up results by hook or by crook and that involves not being tactically inept in the midfield and make a cynical foul when necessary.
That said, for the love of God, get Iraola some players.
