I can’t blame Isak too much as he got zero support.
I think we play Wirtz OR Soboz, not both.
Rio wasted out right. Munoz much better, Rio should come on for the last 30 min on the left to run at a tired defence.
Aroujo and Jacquet both look decent tbh.
Fix the midfield (we need to buy someone) & add Barcola, & keep Gakpo and we’ll look much better.
We need an upgrade starter on Gravenberch and Macallister.

Yeah..I just hate the game of catch up…so pls pls pls can we start to score first…and put pressure on other teams…and less stress on my nerves and blood pressure…much appreciated…thank you…

There have been plenty of small players but Wirtz looks weak. The ease in which he gets brushed aside concerns me.
If he was delivering the cute creative stuff it might be okay but at the moment he contributes nothing.

On the second goal Wirtz has the first chance to make a challenge and he gets brushed aside like he’s not there then doesn’t even chase back which was disgraceful.
He is a generational talent.

We were pretty good but lots of work still to do. Frustrating to allow the same goal twice.
Ngumoha I agree was imeffective but hes a kid, playing opposite side, against one of the best defensive LBs in the league. At least he kept trying to run at him, even if it wasn’t happening.

Opening game of season and you’re meant to the teams offensive lynchpin and you get hooked after 60 minutes isn’t a good look and its fair that people can question what he offers.

“I don’t think it’s just personnel because I understand you are telling me basically Ryan Gravenberch is the six and he’s in the edge of the box, but if he shoots and he scores, we’d be like wow what a play from Gravenberch. I don’t want to also take this from his game but we have to adapt to this as a team to these situations and we know that these situations happen and I think the second goal we dealt better in terms of having the numbers to defend we don’t make the foul, make a challenge… it’s something we have to correct between a lot of players.”

I think the main negative was that we looked rusty, and may need a couple of games for more energy, and better understanding.

That’s fair, and the plan is probably that he won’t be once Munoz is up to speed and we add another winger to the squad.

Near the end of the match (I think it was the final 5 to 8 minutes), I was screaming at Frimpong to cross the ball until my voice was hoarse. There were 4-5 players in red in the box trying to get the equalizer, instead he held onto the ball and got dispossessed multiple times. My stress level with Frimpong must have been off the chart.
We have been spoiled by the fantastic crosses from TAA and Robbo playing at RB and LB. I am still not able to adapt to the massive drop in quality from Frimpong and Kerkez.
