Post Match Thread - Liverpool 0 - 1 Arsenal - 1st November 2026

I hate waking up to a loss. Spoils the whole day.
Accidentally saw the score while looking for a replay.
Bollocks!

Overall I thought we were excellent, especially in the first half when we utterly dominated them for 35mins. The result has gone against us but we should look beyond that and be encouraged by the attitude we showed, the fight, the fitness. We should have had at least two goals in that half but we all know we don’t get ref decisions.
Second half we tired a little but still knocked them out of their game. Just the final pass was missing and the willingness to have a crack at goal. Our front players either don’t seem to time their runs or pick the right angle of run to receive the ball; Or, the midfield doesn’t release the ball in time. The team needs to be braver when going for the killer pass. Be brave boys, I can hear Klopp bellow. That’s the difference between us right now and Brighton who are clinical in the final third.
But lots to be positive about. The London media are already framing this as an Arsenal masterclass but it really wasn’t. But for some naivety on our part and bad VAR they could easily have lost and were restricted to desperate measures most of the game.
I’ll give Dom the benefit as he was just back from injury but he showed all the weaknesses we know in his game. Bad passing, pointless long balls, runs ending with giving up possession. The contrast between the control we showed when the superb Nyoni was on the field and the unbalanced , headless mishmash after he was subbed, was stark.
Defence was good, apart from the crack squirrel who is our weak link (can’t fault the effort thought). Barcola so dangerous first half but then disappeared. Wirtz for me was excellent especially first half but then tired a little. Gakkers and Alex needed some luck. Macca, superb. So, lots of good stuff but midfield for me is still where we need to improve.

We couldn’t break them down, period!
I get it that people are attached to certain things and certain players, but if you are chasing a game, your holding player’s typically surplus, unless they are Rodri

I don’t think we have enough in the tank to win the EPL or Champions League. Top 4 maybe. We still have a long way to go to win any piece of silverware.

We need a prolific goal scorer and Isak should have scored.

Really disappointed with this awful result

When you have £400 million of attacking ‘talent’ who are fucking shit.

He gave the Arsenal player a jolly good piece of his mind. Then disappeared for the rest of the game.

I don’t think we are miles off anything.

Our striker needs to do more than that, really do miss Hugo.

Really poor performance bar 25 to half time.

All huff and puff. No quality or magic to unlock Arsenals defence.

Half time came at wrong time for us.

Isak needs to go batshit crazy at ref for his shirt being pulled but he looked like he couldnt be arsed.

Barcola was really poor. Gakpo quiet, wirtz faded, isak not involved enough and the subs made us worse.

Just poor all round except Jaquet and thought Trey did well after a nervy start but thats expected being 19 and in amongst their big experienced midfielders.

Ref was shite again

Back 4 no complaints.

Macca and Trey both played well.

Alisson is a fucking liability with the ball at his feet and has been for a long time.

Gakpo, Barcola and Isak are a fucking embarrassment to the shirt and it wouldn’t bother me one jot if I never saw any of them wear it again.

Arsenal are a shower of cheating fucking cunts.

Referees continue to fuck us over because the whole of PGMOL is a corrupt organisation. We allow them to do so because there is nobody at the club with a spine.

Spent 2 hours today watching that pile of shite and all it did is leave me wondering what’s the fucking point.

He’s a shithouse. I pray Ekiteke makes a full recovery and we can get rid of the cunt.

Hands on the shirt in the box should always be a pen

I apologise yes you are right every striker worth his salt would have gone berserk at being denied to score. I think Iraola said if he goes down the penalty Is given but I am not sure about that as it was confirmed that VAR looked at it and decided it was not long enough pull typical from Atwell and co.

Imagine having £400 million of attacking talent on the pitch and having to put a 35 year old CB up top to try and create something.

Dunno ask Man Utd it’s been their tactic since around the 50th minute for a couple of seasons now.

We made them look shit is all I know. They were lucky and the way they celebrated showed it. We’re still a work in progress but I believe in Iraola and our squad.

I fully expect the PGMOL to use that image of Isak getting his shirt pulled on their website to display instances of shirt pulling in the box, just like they did with the Doku boot in the chest to Macallister that wasn’t given, but somehow ended up on their site as instances of high boots that are clear fouls.

They should also use it to illustrate situations that deserve an automatic red card, as Goldbridge points out. Timber not even pretending to play the ball and denying clear goalscoring opportunity. Red all day. And where was VAR on the Madueke headbutt while we are at it?

Shit-housery and fall-over FC. So frustrating to watch Arsenal “play” football. How do their fans put up with it week after week? Almost feel sorry for them because they could be so much more.

We had our problems, but we weren’t overwhelmed, we probably deserved a draw and absolutely a penalty. There were good spells in the game where Arsenal were hanging on (literally!).

Disappointing result but disgraceful reffing, as usual, beginning to wonder what a shirt pull is in the eye of Refs and of course VAR!
Maybe you have to pin a tail on a player for it to be seen.
Iknow Nyoni is still a kid but it looked like dragging him was a fundamental error.
but then Arse appear to be a protected species.

You do know that Trey has played a lot of his youth football more as an 8!

Also, if you are in the ascendency controling the game and building the pressure why change the player that is the controller?

We had more offensive options than Szob
