Itā€™s looking more like a decision has been taken to more or less forego this season (letā€™s face it , he hasnā€™t been needed anyway) in the hope of getting him fully fit for the next one. We have to remember heā€™s on a four year contract and that itā€™s better that we give him the best chance possible in the next three than fucking it all up in the first one.

What a collection of dropkicks and plonkers!

Who watches that stuff?

I donā€™t know if thatā€™s the case so much as being realistic about what he can contribute, and what his transfer represented to us. It was always an opportunistic acquisition of someone who can perform really well, but needed quite some work to get back into the necessary physical condition.

We quite literally have more than half the season to go. If him not making the squad for a couple of games helps him to get into shape to consistently deliver for that, then Iā€™m more than happy with that.

Not like Salah will accept being rested anyway.

dont understand people who log on to watch people watch a game - most of these people are utter twats - especially the Arsenal mob. From what ive seen from goldbridge at least he acknowledges we are good and doesnt come out with lfc havent played anyone etc

Managed to get tickets with my two boys in the home end through my dad, a lifelong WHU fan. Our first LFC premier league game live.

I was hoping for an early goal to break the home support spirit but neednā€™t have worried - they were beaten before they started. Loss of Soucek was a hammer blow for them and they simply couldnā€™t cope with the movement.

No real shame on them because on that showing, we are simply untouchable.

What really showed to me was the influence of Virgil. He leads the dynamics in warm up and really sets the tone for the session prior to the match. Even at the end of warm up going round to everyone and patting them on the back etc like ā€œweā€™re ready, letā€™s get off the pitch and get kit on and get to businessā€. A little thing but this aligns with Slots praise the other day of his influence in training. A real example of leadership.

No real tactical notes from me other than Trent seemed to come inside much more than Iā€™d noticed this year - it may be just from seeing it live. He was out of position a couple of times but that curling pass to Salah was a peach - he is simply a magician to see on the ball. The big pitch at London stadium really suits us, we make the pitch big and were devastating using the space. We always seem to play well there.

Iā€™ve seen Whu a couple of times now (staying on the south coast so went to Sthn on Boxing Day) and they are where they are for a reason. Lots of misgivings with the manager. kudus is the only player weā€™d have an eye on (imo obviously).

Overall, 0-5 win, Salah, Virg etc all great and clear top coming into NYE, I couldnā€™t have imagined a better set of circumstances. We travel up to Merseyside Wednesday and have a stadium tour booked in so looking forward to that experience too

Glad you had a good time.

And figures that some of the guys staying back in the west ham end were Liverpool fans.

Hope you have a great time at Anfield.

Aquilaniā€™s time here is much misremembered. It took him half a season to get up an running, but after that he was very good. Things would have likely been very different for him here had we not then brought in Hodgson for the following season who wanted players in his midfield who were more Carlton Palmer rather than Alonso.

The first app I ever made was a shit tracker that required you to take photos of what youā€™d just done and an algorithm graded the color and consistency of it.

The expert rater validation part of that project was wild :joy:

I wasnā€™t sure whether you were joking or not, so I googled it.

There really is an app for everything, isnā€™t there?

My search history is now fucked.

Unstated is there was no clinical use for it. It was just done with a grant from the PeachesPotNoodle Corp for what was described as ā€œpersonal useā€
