That 2nd half was a joy to watch given our voodoo with 12:30 kick offs, maybe the energy Wolves inserted in the game first half was always going to be too much to keep up over 100 mins and we took full advantage and showed our class.
Hats off to Mo for getting all the assists but Nunez and Diaz in particular really changed the game for us…our best front 3 is clear to me.

Random thoughts:
Great debut for Quansah.
Still work to do on the team shape.
Gomez and Robbo did well as proper full backs in the second half.
Mac Allister shouldn’t have started.
Gakpo and Jota should be competing to be first change, Diaz and a half fit Nunez were far more threatening.
Elliot’s bench role is perfect for him. Has brought great energy to the side every game this season.
Salah’s final pass is outstanding again.
Neto one to keep an eye on if he can stay fit.
Poor first half, decent second. Wasn’t expecting a vintage performance today, so you’d take that without a doubt.

Sloppy start. Wolves had a game plan and executed it well. In transition, they would run at speed and be very direct. They pressured Mac Allister, and he struggled to get going. Got an early card (albeit super soft), and didn’t learn from his mistakes (kept losing the ball, sloppy passing, getting intercepted).
Wolves with a goal, with Neto having caused problems down their left. Though I thought Robertson should’ve positioned himself better to cut out the inch perfect cross. Neto set up a glorious chance, but thankfully Cunha messed up.
Joe Gomez playing an absurd pseudo-Trent position. He did better each time he provided width rather than coming in-field into the penalty arc.
Second half, different shape, more players getting forward, and Robertson allowed to get more down the left (with Gomez on the right and Salah coming in more - why didn’t we do this thing we could all see in the first half). Wolves couldn’t cope with the constant pressure, and resorted to trying to slow the game down at any opportunity. Salah getting a couple of assists, with Gakpo getting the equalizer before coming off.
The winner was all about Andy. From deep goes on a run cross field from deep to right, passes to Salah, continues and then a smart left footed finish (who else thought he’d mess it up?). Harvey came on for an energetic cameo, and looked to have got the third, but on replay could see it was an own goal.
So sloppy start, goal down (again), and yet showing resolve and belief to not just get back in the game, but to go on and win it away from home. Quansah getting start, and is a learning curve for him. If he gets an extended run, teams will more target his weaknesses. However, he showed that he can be relied upon.

Hats off to the lads for that turnaround.
They looked completely out of gas after the first half, rudderless, and at mercy of any Wolves attack. Neto was ripping them a new one on his own.
But that’s where Klopp’s genius comes in. He reorganised his lads, and after that, they truly delivered.
The 3-1 is deserved, it could even have been more. But we really need to cut out those slow starts. Yet again a goal against after a few minutes. That needs to stop.
Top of the league, 13 points out of 15, and another tough away game out of the way.
Oh, and the early away game after an international break is officially lifted! If that isn’t great news!!!

Don’t we still get the 3 votes for MotM? I know it seemed a bit superfluous last season but it would be nice to acknowledge more than one player.
What did everyone think of Quansah? I think he did OK overall. His performance seemed to reflect the rest of the team at times but he looked confident in that second half before the cramp set in. Certainly handy to have another option in that position.

I know that Elliot’s goal wasn’t his own, but an own-goal. Still, Salah with the three decisive passes for the goals.

Glad we won!!! Klopp got the starting 11 wrong but did immense with his substitutions. Would have started Endo myself. Hopefully he gets his chance.

First Half was a shambles in terms of system. Getting Gomez to play that inverted full-back role is kinda weird. Macca is jet lagged as fuck. The front three couldn’t get a single meaningful touch.
Second half started off with Diaz in for Macca, and LFC went for a 4231 where Gomez becomes an orthodox full-back… Very quickly, the additional attacker and the change in formation made their presence known. Gomez providing the width and Diaz being direct is the key to disrupting Wolves.
Gakpo’s clever positioning got him a very nice tap-in. Nunez and Elliott coming on improved the ball retention and ball progression. Robbo’s quick thinking got us the second. Nunez retaining the ball was key for us to get the third…

4 wins out of 5 and we’ve been trailing in the first 10 minutes in 3 of them. It’s a great sign that we are managing to come from behind but we need to cut out the poor starts which sometimes extend to entire halfs like this one. This one was an abomination during which we didn’t look like we were ready to play from the get go. Klopp must take some responsibility here just as he takes the credit for turning things around at the halftime. What was he thinking starting Mac Allister? Anyway, all it took was a good second half after Klopp’s adjustments to come away 3 precious points.
Loved Robertson’s goal, it reminded me of him 3-4 years ago when he looked that he would literally run through a wall. Delighted with Elliott’s contribution from the bench again. He is having a nice season so far. And Salah as well. Another two assists.
