Pre Match | LFC v AFC Bournemouth (H) | 15/08/2025 - 8pm

It’s phases of play like that where Gakpo needs to be better.

& Dom needs to stop with the needless fouls.

No idea mate.

It’s obvious, we’re getting nothing off the officials tonight.

The crowd is getting riled … always a good sign.

the Bournemouth player took a swipe at ball and touched it with his hand,

VAR team bottled it,

no way are they sending a player off 10 mins into the opening game of the season live on TV

New season, same old shit. VAR already creating (stupid) plausible reasons to back up ref decision.

Think we gonna miss Diaz…Gakpo needs to be a lot better.

ibou is just mentally slow today

“Hugo! Dive! That’s what they want”.

Arne’s message to Hugo pretty much summing up the state of the officials.

Are we still doing yellow cards for kicking the ball away, or is that no longer a thing?

I’m lost. It feels like he blew the whistle because something happened then after deciding they didn’t want to send the guy off we’re left with having to invent a free kick for them to allow the game to restart

Shouldn’t there be a ref’s tournament, like getting points after each game, and deductions for mistakes etc.? Goes for VAR refs too.
Would have 1) Incentive, 2) a way to decide who is assigned to important games, 3) some sort of prestige…

Liverpool 0-0 Bournemouth

Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live at Anfield

On the handball by Marcos Senesi when Liverpool were looking to break:

I thought it was a ricochet from the thigh onto the arm. His arm was moving in a natural position. There was a lot of uproar around the ground but I didn’t really see it as being a handball.

We look a little bit nervous

Anthony Taylor. To be fair, I don’t expect him to spot the handball. VAR should pick that up.
