Pre Match | Liverpool FC V Everton (Home) | PL - Sat 20/09/2025 - 12:30pm

I’m sure that Arne and his team will know the personnel, formation and tactics to see us through this game. COYR YNWA :+1:

Would you trust Kerkez to start this one? He’ll be so amped up he’ll two-foot Pickford in the face.

Actually yes, good call!

It’s called taking one for the team.

Prickfords actually landing his face in front of kerkez’s leg in the 90th+last 30 seconds of added time

Kerkez then escaping a booking as he was declared as offside.

That said , you do make a valid point. We might need to use Robbo more in this game because he’s got that experience to go with his shithousery.

Robbo still has the pace to go for 60 min even if he doesn’t have the engine anymore to last for 90

I don’t think he should play two 90 minutes in 3 days. It’s probably ok at this moment

It’s “Hi David Moyes” now

… and for us it’s the only one that counts at the moment … of course it’s also a special match for both teams however I think for them the most special is the one at thier ground, wherever and however you get there and back home nowadays.

Well you know what they say about great minds.

Who do you mean MH?

Well he struggled at times with that schedule last year however due to the fact he didn’t start the first three probably means he is ok at this moment.

I think he’s talking about Gravenberch who looked knackered for the last 15mins and should have been replaced.
Same as the end of last season!

I’m a bit nervous about their physical approach and the chance to cause injury. We need the ref to do his job and protect the players.

I would bring Kerkez back in for Robbo. I don’t think Robbo can do two games in such a short time. Yes, Kerkez got hooked early last time out, as they were targeting him for a second yellow, but that’s not reason enough to leave him out of this. There’s a sense in which he will grow leaps and bounds as he plays more and gets used to being a Liverpool player, so I would stick him in. If a pattern develops where he keeps over-indulging in the physical battle and gets into card trouble, that will be a bigger issue for Slot to sort out, but I think he should get the nod here.

MacAllister - big call, but I would put him on the bench. He is an imperious player but he is a bit off his best as he looks like he is carrying a knock to me. Everton won’t need a second invitation to go at him, so I would probably start him on the bench.

I see Ekitike starting and Isak coming on with 20 mins to go to build on his outing against Atletico.

Alisson
Frimpong Konate Van Dijk Kerkez
Szoboszlai Grav
Salah Wirtz Gakpo
Ekitike

Something like that.

2-0 to the mighty reds. Wirtz to get off the mark and Ekitike to score again.

PS - It would be nice to have a couple of easier games at some point, so Grav can get a bit of a rest. Endo could come in, maybe Jones will be fit again soon, and I still have hope for Bajcetic to show what he can do this season. Might save us a few bob in the long run.

This is the first game of the season I think we will lose. Not because we are not much better than them, but because every season; i confidently think we’ll crush them, but it’s almost always a draw or a loss and they are always more fighty than we are.

This time, I would rather be positively surprised and expect nothing more than a good fight. Low expectations feels far better than to be disappointed

Last ten games:

Liverpool: 4
Everton: 2
Draw: 4

Yes, so not as bad as it “feels”, but well within parameters to be extraordinary cautious. I for one will be. It works better for me mentally to be positively surprised than disappointed. And this is a game where I won’t be disappointed.

For you, maybe it is different, maybe it’s not rough for you if you have too high expectations and fall flat. But this is me we are talking about.

How to hijack a thread!

There have been over a hundred derbies since I started supporting Liverpool and whatever happens, at the end of the day, we are a far superior club. That won’t change.
