I was agreeing with you, but pointing out that Firmino was the one that people were talking about dropping to make space for Jota, but he isn’t neither doing what Firmino does nor what he does well himself. Might be a good move for more than just avoiding injury and letting Mane restore himself for the weekend.

Statistically long range shots are not very dangerous, with less than 10% even being on target. If Ajax score from a long range then fair enough but ultimately it’s a case of “pick your poison”. Play high, reducing the number of chances but maybe improving the quality of the chances produced, or play deep increase the number of chances but reduce the quality. Let an inexperienced goalkeeper face shots from 25/30 yards or let him try and play as a sweeper keeper when they break our lines. With Alisson we are confident he can handle those high risk opportunities - with Kelleher, I’d rather he just have to make saves.
Playing deep is absolutely a choice.

I agree but not at the expense of losing Mane. Everyone can see how tired he is, he needs a break before hes forced to take a longer one due to injury. As someone said above the same goes for Robbo and Gini but we cant afford to change too much too soon this game so my first change would be Mane

I saw the one that was given. I didn’t see a clear free kick that was not given. I was positively surprised by the ref when Robertson made a very physical challenge on an Ajax player and it was deemed not a free kick. I think the ref has been very strong.
