You said weâd crash out against a PL team. If that was a cup game we wouldnât have.
I think you can choose to continue to be overly negative or carry on with some hope that things might get better. Neither attitude will have any impact on results but the latter is a far nicer way to be.
I prefer to stay realistic while others prefer naivety.
Even without the injuries we wonât be able to compete for more than one competition during a week. Slot has killed all the squad depth with his approach.
Havenât lost away in the PL since late October. You think weâll get dumped out of we draw a PL team in the next round. But you think youâre the realistic one?
Give me hopefully naive over desperately defeatist any day. If for no other reason than you donât have to invent things to keep thinking up ways to try and make yourself and others feel miserable.
And yes, maybe we will win the FA Cup. Itâs also not the end of the world if we donât but itâs nice to think we might instead of giving up before we even start.
Youâre talking about a problem caused by the manager in a fixture that as yet doesnât even exist. And you donât think thatâs unnecessarily negative?
Lifeâs too short so lâll leave you to your make believe misery. All the best.
Thing with the League cup is it fills your fixture list up like no other. My only complaint on that team was the lack of lads off the bench then again it wouldnât have much mattered.
There were times when Klopp was criticized by some for his domestic cup approaches and results. For example, in 16/17, we faced Claude Puelâs Southampton side in 4 games and scored 0 goals (and a total of 10 shots on target). Karius pulling out wonders to keep the score 1-0 in the first SF leg.
In some early rounds of some competitions, itâs true that we werenât lucky with the draw. And the Villa case in 2020 was perhaps a once in a lifetime situation.
Then, also as the squad got better (not to forget that we often had issues with injuries, I donât remember many seasons or periods in seasons when we had few injuries), he got criticized by some for going stronger and trying to win a few more of those (which we did), downplaying the importance of them.

22/23: FA Cup 4th round (Brighton away), League Cup 4th round (City away)
23/34: FA Cup quarter final (United away), League Cup winners
Our squad depth in 21/22:
Alisson
Trent Matip vDijk Robertson
Henderson Fabinho Thiago
Salah Firmino Mane
Kelleher
Milner Konate Gomez Tsimikas
Jones Keita
Chamberlain Minamino Diaz
Jota
Extra senior players: Adrian, Karius, Phillips (loaned out in January), R. Williams (recalled from loan in January) N. Williams, Elliott, Origi.
Not mentioning other, I think at the time not yet full time senior players who have played some games like Bradley, Morton, Gordon (I think he might have trained with the first team full time then), etc.
A time when Klopp said how Jota told him mid-season that itâs great weâre in all competitions, because we have too many players who would be unhappy if we didnât have all those games.
Amazing season, a few goals short of the quadruple.
