Didn’t you hear? Slot won last season with Klopp’s team. Now he is winning with Klopp’s tactics. When will the appropriation gonna end, Arne?
Thank you for pointing that out I had completely forgot.
What a muppet I am
Arne Slot’s pre-match press conference highlight(s):
- Is it a must win in terms of title race? Concentrate on next game and look to get consistent.
- Real Madrid boost: We had similar performance in games we lost. Not a surprise, but helpful that Madrid set up as expected. Expect City to play their usual style.
- Left hand side - Wirtz to stay left / Robbo fitness: Robertson off at end of game as he was tired. See how he is for Sunday. Wirtz can play anywhere. Concentrate on good positions for his creativity. Isak training with team but not match fit.
- Consistency: We were consistent, but consistently losing! Every away game is difficult.
- Teams like City play as you would expect. Good players and no time wasting.
- What has enabled the midfield to function again: Helps is team plays together more. Players fit again. Performance against United was better than against Villa. Had to take more risks when losing matches.
- How much more to come from Dom: He has been outstanding but last two games brought more out of him and team. His work without the ball pleased Slot.
- Robertson - can he still operate at top level: Really good in last three games. Calm on ball and did job defensively.
- Perception that players drop off after 30th birthday: Over 30 doesn’t tell you anything. Virg, Mo still performing. 32 isn’t old for a footballer.
- Salah work off the ball: Has helped the team a lot. Important for Mo to score but defenceless work also important.
- Alisson / Frimpong: Alisson should be fit after break. Jeremy longer.
- Premier league allows more physically than Europe. PL has more emphasis on set pieces. Set piece balance in PL has not been good for us. (didn’t hear question).
TLDR: Alisson and Frimpong still out but Ali on his way back. Isak training but not fully match fit. We play City on Sunday.
Looks like we’ll be able to go again with more or less the same XI, I think the only doubts are in the two positions on the left side.
Good to see Alisson is almost ready to return.
Is Rodri playing ?
Keeping low expectations is secret to happy life. ![]()

Add into the mix that it is Pep’s 1000 game as a manager, and there is no way in hell we will be allowed to win. Be prepered for some fucking dodgy decisions.
Just looking at the table, win this and we are second,I’ll have that!
COYR.
Going second and getting a foot back into the race again after a disastrous October. What more motivation the lads need?
Crisis over or did Anfield magic carry us through the last two games.
Tune in to find out this afternoon.
Don’t think it’s time to look at the table, try and gain some momentum and see what happens. A draw would be decent, main target is top4 anyway.
I feel like this game comes a little too soon for us re the recent results etc. Maybe a couple more wins before it and I would have had more belief.
I reckon the lads go out there and give it a good go. Cant see it being as disastrous as the Brentford game but I think Haaland and the form he’s in, plus Foden who’s hit form and usually plays well vs us will give them a narrow win.
Still best not to look at the table or think about the title still. We just need to go out there and concentrate on the game in hand. A loss would be a kicker but not the end of the world with this really tough run coming to an end.
Games after the international break are favourable to us during a busy Christmas period.
Apart from Haaland , this is the worst City side I can remember under Pep. They are bang average and dodgy as fuck at the back. Throw in the fact that Rodri’s probably not playing , then we have an excellent chance to go there and take the three points.
Who dares wins. Go at 'em like we did Madrid.
0-2 to the mighty Reds.
That’s more like it! Enough of this defeatist nonsense ![]()
We have to make the most of the Arsenal dropped points. This is something they never did last season when we dropped points.
It’s so tight that I’m not even looking only at Arsenal.
