We on many occasions try to win the ball and get turned as we over commit to the challenge. As you say stay goal side slow them down and win it back when we have numbers near.

Nothing to do with size, all to do with composition.
Too many he seemingly doesn’t trust to start. Nunez, Endo, Elliott, Chiesa, Quansah all bench players. Maybe indicative of it being Slot’s first season and not wanting to judge players without seeing them first.
