In all seriousness, I think the levels of delusion, paranoia and conspiracy muttering is now getting quite dangerous amongst football fans.
A dip into social media reveals that there isn’t a fanbase in the league who don’t have a proportion who believe that the games authorities are uniquely targeting them with the intention of stopping them winning games of football, and every team ahead of them in the league is only there because they have been favoured by the officials.
Its been the case for years. We have our own fans that believe the officials are out to get us, but every other clubs fanbase thinks the same.
We spend so money the attract the best players in the World, I don’t understand why we are not doing the same with our Officials. We should be going out and paying top dollar for the best officials in the World.
They would say so. Which leads me to think how fucking unhinged some of them look, and wonder if we look like that to fans other teams?
Having said that, there is a certain air of desperation to some of the comments I’ve seen, and a weird refusal to see the evidence in from of their own nose. I recently came across an Arsenal fan (a particularly unhinged fanbase) who still refused to accept that Havertz handballed that disallowed goal.

I think Macca looked fucked towards the end of the game on Sunday, and I’d like to see him come on with thirty to go. Last game was the first one in which I think we lost the midfield battle, so we need energy.
I appreciate the shouts for Bradley over Trent, especially as Trent seems to have a tough time with Rashford, but I don’t think Slot would drop Trent.
I think that Slot will continue being cautious with Jota, and Nunez will get the nod. I think Villa’s back line is really ticking with injuries so Darwin is te better bet to unsettle them further.
I agree with what you are saying, but the sequencing of these games matters. If we drop points here the cracking up narrative is going to go into hyperdrive going into the game against City in ways that really has the potential to start becoming a self-fulfilling story.
From their perspective, and the people who want this to be a real race, a draw tonight puts Arsenal only 5 points back (giving their points for a win against West Ham already). The hysteria of the lead being potential only a 2 point lead if we then lose against City will be off the charts.
