2 clean sheets!
Not great, not terrible. I’ll take that.
Love you all
So happy with this result. No more sensational stories about Mo and Arne.
I can finally watch MoTD again
amazing what a kick up the arse can do to a player
Yeah. A couple of notable moments where you expect better, but over all was probably one of his 2 or 3 best performances of the season. If a version of Mo that can no longer out run players is going to be useful that is what is going to look like.
A largely self-administered kick ![]()
Or not playing with Gakpo and Isak.
Yet he misses a very easy pass and a chance he would take in his pomp, for $400k not good enough in the moments we need him.
If we get offered a decent fee I would take it, if we get Semenyo that is.
On the game, 1st half we looked great at times, 2nd half seemed fearful and didn’t press or play as well and didn’t get Jones or Wirtz on the ball enough.
Grav defensively was boss 2nd half.
Especially with Everton losing as well. Not a bad day.

Give it a rest. He missed loads of chances in his peak, it was basically a meme during his 44 goal season. All players miss chances.
It was a quality performance, one bad pass at the end doesn’t change that.
He was unselfish, (mostly) quality on the ball, and worked hard when out of possession. Couldn’t ask for much more, apart from a goal
I know I am being harsh on Mo and I do agree with many I liked that he wasn’t greedy and played it to his team mates but there were 3 moments where I just think we have seen the best of Mo, 2 were obvious but the one that stood out was when Dunk beat him to a ball in behind and Dunk isn’t fast.
Also, Fede was on for less time and had 2 key passes, one to Mo and 1 to Isak, but can’t get a sniff.
Bad pass, awful IMO
We could have made it easier had we not sucked at the final pass/shot and it could have been much more tense had Brighton taken their chances better. The performance until Ekitike’s second was amongst the best of the season. Compact, alert, aggressive with some nice interplay to go along. After the goal, we stood off, fatigue became more evident and the number of players dealing with cramps was alarming. Hopefully everyone comes through unscathed, except for the perennially unlucky Joe Gomez.
Ekitike, Salah, Jones and Kerkez, who did very well against a tough opponent, were the standouts.
Overall, an accomplished showing. Lots of positives, some negatives but as good as it gets in our current situation.
2 were obvious but the one that stood out was when Dunk beat him to a ball in behind and Dunk isn’t fast.
He is also an international caliber defender who has reached that level despite literally everyone he plays being faster than him and has found a way to navigate those sorts of situations to make sure he isnt just ran past by someone who is faster than him.
Mo is not what he was, but to have a rational conversation about what he has left to offer we need to avoid the temptation to put everything that doesn’t come off as a result of his age and something the old Mo would have done better.
Age is relevant here, the one with Dunk was a foot race where Mo in the past would beaten Dunk to the ball and didn’t and pace was a big thing for Mo.
As I said I did like that he was more of a team player in possession but he was poor in the 2 moments that in the past he would have done better and has been the same most of this year.
Age stands still for no one.
Great win against a tidy Brighton side. Just what we needed after all the fuss.
The performance was pretty good too. Not perfect, but much better than most of our play this season. Good to see.
Ekitike was very good, so was Wirtz. The midfield was resolute too, and Jones had a good game - all the Cruyff turns in his own box nearly gave me a heart attack, but I suppose that’s what you get when you have a silky player filling in at fullback.
Mo Salah. Glad to see the manager exert his authority and not start him after his outburst. Equally glad to see him on the bench, and not completely out in the cold. Pragmatic, and we needed him much earlier than anyone expected.
Mo started brightly and it looked like he was playing for the team a bit more - chasing back, looking for teammates - and if that came from a meeting with the manager, where Slot told him what he needed to do, I’m delighted with that. No one is above the team, and Mo didn’t act like he was when he came on. He drifted to the periphery of the game a bit and then came on strong late on, when I thought he would score. He had a couple of good chances but it was not to be.
He’s not what he was, but he is still a good player. If he stays, so long as it is without special treatment, then great. If he is sold in January I would be fine with that too. Players come and go, but LFC remains.
He now goes to AFCON having done ok, helping us to a win. He didn’t get his goal but he got some love from the fans - rightly so, and so did the manager - rightly so.
The next few weeks will be interesting to see, as there are issues to resolve - his agent said as much, and either staying or going is still very much up in the air.
