Slot is surely gone. I can’t believe FSG will keep hold, even assuming we finish in the CL spots. He won’t get a proper reset, and going into the new season with a toxic situation bubbling just beneath the surface seems stupid. And I don’t think FSG are stupid.
Both our Leverkusen lads arrived with questions about how we saw them fitting into the side and how they’d be used. Some apprehension, but confidence on the assumption that if we had a plan for them they could thrive. We’re into the last month of the season and we still don’t see any evidence of it for either.
Not a surprise though. I’ve stopped believing that things will change.
