What a load of shit.
The shit world club champions v the shit prem champions. How the mighty have fallen so quickly.
With that in mind we win right?
Early train ride to Anfield. COYR. Lock down that CL spot.
Have I asked about your record?
Seeing the above. ![]()
When it rain, it pours.
Only one loss (0-3 to Forest) on record (of going to see us at Anfield, saw us at Emirates in the famous 08-09 season and we drew against the Gooners).
I know weβve been bad this season. But Iβm hoping the fact that this is Chelseaβs first away match after getting rid of Liam and their very first post Liam match they looked absolutely abysmal will help us secure three points. But I am taking nothing for granted after our symbolic display at Old Trafford.
Sir Kenny stand typically joins in with any song or chants that the Kop starts off. We were in full voice in the first match of the season. But I have noticed a significant drop off in any sort of noise making from my stand during the course of the season, And I canβt really blame them.
Most of the noise recently has been shouting at Cody to pass to Kerkez or Konate to not fuck up or ANYONE (mostly Macca) to put a tackle in while the opposition are approaching our goal. A big one recently thatβs been riling up fans at Anfield has been shouting at the players to not pass all the way back from potentially promising attacking positions because at one point we seem like we run out of ideas to progress the ball into the attackers. Typically this seems to happen when Cody gets the ball.
Mudryk is serving a doping ban for using Meldonium i believe. Same prescription drug Sharapova got caught using (without medical reason) and caused her to retire earlier than expected.
What a brilliant exercise β sprinting 5 metres at 60% and then catching a ball; clearly match-oriented drillsβ¦
I am hoping that it was just warm up. But given what weβve seen on the pitch this season I canβt be sure.
Of course that itβs warm up, thatβs the only part that is usually open for public.
Arne Slotβs pre-match ramble.
- Isak training training with team again for first time yesterday.
- Alisson out. Mama training. Salah out.
- Ibou training. Wirtz was unwell but training yesterday.
- Performances are important. Main aim is to qualify for CL.
- What to expect from Chelsea? A few of their key players are available again. Always a difficult game for both teams.
- What to expect from Chelsea given results? Manager has clear identity on how he plays.
- How important to finish season well? Season will still be disappointing with 3 victories. Need 3 points first.
- Would it make a difference to end with 3 wins? Need a longer run of good results before criticism stops.
- Are players held back through lack of self-belief? It always weighs heavy if we lose games.
- What will enable the team to deal with counter attacks? Not the only issue. It would help if we score more goals.
- How is team mentality and bonding? Players who have played longer together are more bonded. Bonding is different to mentality.
- Young squad mentality? Mentality is nothing to do with age.
- Changing personnel - another season of transition? Looking forward to working with a group of players. Not as drastic changes as last year. Kostas probably returning.
- What has changed from last season in terms of holding on to leads? Not had as many leads as last season. Other than that, Arne wonβt discuss it.
- Will new players help change things? Depends on who we can bring in, but things always change with new players.
- Will Dom have more attacking contribution? Players still available who can score goals.
- Conor Bradley - back for pre-season? Still working inside but quite far away to training with team.
Ian Doyle - Liverpool Echo
Amid the excitement over Liverpoolβs record-breaking transfer splurge last summer, there was one arrival that flew very much under the radar.
Now, though, Will Wright will be given the opportunity to step out from the shadows and demonstrate why the Reds made a surprise swoop for his services back in August.
Having made the bench for the last two Premier League games, the 18-year-old will have this week to once again train with the first team and stake his claim for, at the very least, a cameo when Chelsea visit in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime.
Indeed, with Mohamed Salah and Hugo Ekitike absent and doubts over whether Alexander Isak will be able to feature, there is also the outside chance Wright could be handed a senior full debut for Liverpool.
A substitute outing, though, seems most likely for a striker who has been impressing with the under-21s in recent weeks to push himself into Arne Slotβs thinking.
Not that it would be Wrightβs first taste of action at Anfield. On the day his move from Salford City was made official last August, he replaced Florian Wirtz 16 minutes from time in the second of two friendlies against Athletic Bilbao and almost netted a goal at the Kop end with practically his first touch.
The youngster opted to move to Liverpool rather than Arsenal - for a fee of Β£200,000 up front along with a potential number of add-ons - for footballing reasons and the fact he would be able to stay in the North West rather than having to move to London.
This season, Wrightβs experience has mirrored that of many strikers at senior and Academy level at Liverpool, missing several months with a serious knee injury suffered during the UEFA Youth League opener against Atletico Madrid in September.
But after returning to action, the teenager has hit his stride in recent weeks and produced two excellent finishes for the under-21s in their recent 3-3 Premier League 2 play-off draw against Crystal Palace, albeit later being among those to fail from the spot in the penalty shoot-out defeat.

No one even knows his identity.
I think he was referring to the Chelsea manager. It was Arneβs usual platitudes regarding an opposition that we should be kicking whilst they are down.
In a way we are on a hiding to nothing here. Chelsea have been terrible, losing six in a row I think. But the collection of players is obviously much better than that. So will they show a bit of pride and put a performance in? Itβs quite possible.
And then on our end, we have had issues all season in various guises, hence we are where we are. At the moment Iβm not sure what goalie will start, and we look very light up top.
All that is to say, even though Chelsea have been crap, this is far from a forgone conclusion.
And just to underscore how bad we have been, I found myself taking a moment to look up the remaining fixtures for Bournemouth, Brentford and Brighton. Ugh. When has that ever been relevant to league champions? Erm, right now it is.
Even if we lay an egg my conclusion is we will still stumble into a top five finish for next yearβs CL.
But we all know the score on what should happen after that.
Chelsea fans have even less faith than we do. Predicting that they get smashed.
Maybe if we were more fit, especially along the front line, I could see it. And perhaps Isak will be back. Wirtz looks like heβs going to be available. We have to start Rio, certainly.
They should win this, secure UCL, and then they can go on holiday for the rest of the season for all I care. Just finish this already.
