Is any of this about football? Thanks for sharing though.

Pep underestimated his opponents in the last few games with Rico Lewis and Gundogan as a midfielder duo. Both lack speed and athleticism, making it easy to hurt them on the counter. But with Doku, Grealish, Akanji, and Dias coming back, I expect Pep will use Stones or Nunes in the middle. Still not an ideal midfield, but it will be much tougher. Hope Trent comes backā€”his long balls will be a useful weapon against their slow, out-of-form backline now.

I think we may struggle with Quansah. However I think Trent will be able to play a decent amount allowing us to go with Gomez. Though the convo Bradley and Slot seemed to have it didnā€™t seem that worried eithier of them based on their facial expressions.

Arne having his presser in 5mins??

Sorry work, I have to be excused.

I hope we get Trent back and play with Gomez in the centerback

Nothing against Quansah whoā€™s been very good last season but he seems to be taking time getting upto scratch with Slotball.

Itā€™s still a risk as we run the risk of not having a RB backup.

But this is possibly the best time to face City. Hopefully we get the tactics right and whack the living daylights out of them.

Any backup RBs in the academy that might be needed for Newcastle ?

I donā€™t want Gomez to play in midfield :joy:

Wouldnā€™t it be better to just have Quansah as back up for Newcastle.

Fixed.

I donā€™t think any kid near the bench. Diaz or Endo can do the job if some very bad luck happen but I doubt it.

We might need someone there just to see off the minutes.

I note that Mabaya is with the graduates. Heā€™s not really ready for the first team. But having him in the squad for Newcastle as a backup might help.

Donā€™t know about his injury record or anything.

Looks like the Slot is looking at this as an option as well.

Our youngsters frequently train with the first team. It means nothing. Our best prospects, like Danns or Nyoni, train with the first team all the time but donā€™t even make the bench, even though in the last few games we had two GKs on the bench.

I think Nyoni is ready for some minutes off of the bench. Heā€™s a real talent and probably will start in the domestic cups.

I donā€™t have the same opinion about Mabaya. But if he can see off a comfortable win which Slot does have with his more posession based approach. Iā€™m all for it.

We have more control now seeing off games than we had with Klopp.

Well nothing from that PC :joy:

Nyoni is probably ahead of his development curve than what Curtis was at his age. I rate Curtis very highly but heā€™s a late bloomer.

He should be getting more minutes. One of the reasons weā€™ve hired Slot is to maximize the minutes from the academy and the existing squad players.

I generally donā€™t do predictions. And this isnā€™t one too. More of a wishlist.

Trent to come in , score an absolute banger , kiss the badge and announce Iā€™m staying.

Gomez to score a goal.

Salah to assist one and then hug Trent and then announce the staying bit.

Big Virg to beam like a proud older brother and then announce heā€™s staying.

Pep to disintegrate in a pool of his own tears.

Arsenal and all the other competitors to lose(including United and Everton)

Redcafe to implode.

Damn. Guilty as charged.

Can that match be called off and both sides deducted 6 points ?

As I said itā€™s a wishlist.

Push comes to shove. Iā€™d rather Everton win though
