Terrible second half. Very worrying to see a team that’s fourth from bottom overwhelming us so easily. Defensively we were poor all round. Improved slightly when Endo was brought on. Will have to improve hugely for the next two games this week to come away with anything.
Think Elliott has gone out of favour after that poor FA Cup performance
I think you can maybe point to this as a pragmatic attitude to just getting the 3 points. He doesnt use Endo much because he’s not strong enough on the ball and Slot wants us to see games out with clever possession. Today it seems like he accepted we werent doing that and rather than trying to double down conceeded that the 3 points was all the mattered and sent Endo on to help us scrap to that result.
As well as he did and as much as his team mates clearly appreciated it, I dont think it bodes that well for us to see him getting more of these opportunities

I’ve been rooting for him but had enough at this point. Doesn’t offer enough despite many chances and great support from crowd. He even has a song/chant whereas Jones, Cody, Grav etc don’t, despite giving far more to the cause

Hopefully we go on to win the league and rather look back at this as a memorable win, much like vs West Ham in our title winning season.

You can count on 1 hand how many proper performances we’ve put in for the full 90mins. Today, like the last 2 before it…were not it.
45mins is all we seem to have, we invite too much pressure and leave games hanging on the edge…not really what I thought Slot ball was about but hey ho.

At least Villa will have played similar number of games to level the fitness aspect… Difficult playing against a side that are fresh and rested - Good 3points for us today

I know Leicester looked good against Arsenal yesterday, but Arsenal always looked liked they were going to win the game. Whereas with us, in the second half, it always looked like Wolves were the more likely to score.
Gravenberch and Macca looked knackered and at least one of them should have been subbed.
Three points. Wednesdays monkey off our backs. Mathematically safe from relegation.

We were tired after the derby while they had a whole week to rest. You could see how everyone was tired.
We also missed Cody and Jones as subs to give us energy and quality.
We’ll be fine next week
But still being clear at the top by 7 points and finishing the CL qualifiers top should point out to you that this team doesn’t need to perform for the full 90. Score 6 goals in the first half and you can have an awful second half

That was one of our worse games this season, that happens, but we showed great resilience not letting them get a second goal! Sign of a title winning team, hopefully that gives the team some confidence after Everton!
