Their pace on the wings is a worry given how we’ve been susceptible to attacks down out flanks. Both the Leicester goal and the first Arsenal goal come to mind. Other than the obvious threat of CHO, Ola Aina can really bomb down the right. Midfield need to be on it helping out our fullbacks.
If we get the first goal I reckon we win it. Then we can pick them off when they try to attack our set block
Also remember, Nunez didn’t introduce Elanga and Odoi at Anfield until the 65/70 minute mark as fresh subs against tired legs. That’s what gave them the win after mostly a defensive performance
I’m still drooling over Barnsey and that game. For another thread but one of LFC’s all time performances like hammering United or Barca and so many others.

Yeah, definitely a big game. Win this, and we put down an important marker for the second half of the season.
I hope that the lads will show an improved performance, compared to their latest outings in the league. Especially the defending hasn’t been good enough lately, and some of the players have looked flat and uninspired. So, hopefully the rest during this week-end for many of them will have recharged their batteries.
Big occasions usually bring the best out of our lads, and this is definitely one. Looking forward to it!

When we played them in the FA Cup a few years ago, Jota scoring the winner, it was nice playing against them after a long time.
But when’s the last time we had this situation of a league game with both teams being at the top? Early 80’s?
