EDIT: and it is mildly surprising, to me anyway, that Wilder has the balls to ask his board for “a player or two” in January and that they’re going to oblige.

I can sort of understand that. I don’t remember that Derby season in detail, but I do recall they had more than half of their points by this stage in the season. On the table, they did not look hopeless until perhaps January. But their goal differential was already awful. It got worse in the late season collapse, however from the start of the season it seemed every 3-4 games they would have a game that after 10 minutes you’d wonder how they got to the PL - that brutal 6-0 versus Liverpool a case in point. Even in their closer games, they looked hapless most of the time. They were a truly terrible team to watch.

Blades just don’t look like that. It feels like they are in most games, but only just. They are not getting embarrassed, they just don’t have a way to score goals when they need them without opening themselves beyond their capacity. Two players can fix that, for example a guy to make the pass and someone to finish it.

Agreed, but they also have a £30M player on the bench, they brought in to score goals, but they’re only bringing on in relief.

Just watched the highlights. Horrible goalkeeping at both ends in the United on United match. Four of the five goals might have been kept out with better keeping.

The Matip scare was for me I think, as I took him in my fantasy league. First Liverpool player I took after 2 odd years and couldn’t complete a game. The last one was Gomez before start of season back then, and he got injured even before the season started.

Anyways, lesson learnt and I have used the wild card and removed him. Now I have taken Kane, Son, De Bruyne, Fernandes, Cancelo, Zouma, James. Expect performances to drop for all of them now!

Ofcourse Matip gets an assist. My contributions and sacrifices in Fantasy league for our benefit shouldn’t go unnoticed.
