Premier League 2020/21 (Part 1)

I’ve been saying it for a while, but it bears repeating - the game is bent. There is no other plausible explanation for the embarrassing state of PL refereeing. They’re on the take.

Only thing to use is the feet when it comes to offside, its called 'foot’ball for christs sake grrrrrr

I would settle for bits you can score with…not arms though. Why can’t they have a spokesman who can explain and clarify these decisions? There is no accountability and that is why everyone is so frustrated.

Using feet jus simplifies it, and the use the shirt sleeve because theoretically you can no score with it

Because accountability is anathema to them. It would show the world how pathetic refereeing is in one of the most expensive sports organisations in the world.

Just looked up reports from La Liga and it appears to be the same story there with VAR and offside. They appear to be using the same criteria and it is causing controversy there too. Looks like IFAB have to step in and clarify exactly what constitutes offside in the age of VAR even if it involves a change in the law so VAR can operate in a simpler and more transparent format.

PS please sign Jack Grealish, Juergen…I love watching him play.

For 100 years that’s goal. Feel for Ings. Hate the whole VAR experience.

Bottom line though is you are off or not. You cannot blame to ref here they are following the rules and the technology is there. Even changing the law to feet, body, arms, nose hair and you still will have close controversial calls.

Now the handball requires discretion and I hate it. You can argue the toss but Imo that was a handball in the box every day.

Naturally it should even out…unless you are Manchester United.

VAR biggest weakness is it has eliminated been level in offside calls under the letter of the law level is onside. The way its operated VAR you are either on or offside thats the issue.

They did the same to Twanzebe against Sheffield abused him rotten

As I said in my other reply, that 1 goal against Spurs was a penalty in the first 5mins or something.

Imagine being that shit.

Two of Chelsea’s biggest signings (Haavertz and Chilwell) benched by Tuchel today. That squad is really gonna take some sorting out.

Great run and great finish by Barnes. Gareth Southgate making note to self. “Reminds to start Barnes in next England match.”
