City playing football like they’d forgotten fans were allowed back in. That brand of slow football is much easier when the game is like a training exercise. Spurs lacked quality (but for one moment) but out matched City for energy and pace, that’s all it took.
Impressive debut for Nuno. Great defending. Imperious tackling. Masterful countering. Son will benefit if there is no more Kane. What a match from him. Dele Alli seemed a passenger most of the match. Hard to see him play and think he’s the same guy from three or four years back.
Fair play, Spurs did really well in the second half. Defended brilliantly and were much better on the counter. City looked a bit toothless up front and vulnerable on their left side.
If they let Kane go and keep Son through the middle you’d think there is more room in this side to play himself into form. It’s difficult to see him getting much room to play himself back into form if they have to move him back into one of the two real midfielder positions.
The more interesting stat is with fans back in grounds the home win ratio is back to 70%. Last season was the first time ever there were more away wins than home wins in the league.
