Premier League 2021/22 (Part 1)

It’s been a entertaining game.

I’ve got 50 quid with his name on it if he can put a couple in Maddison.

That was hilarious. Mings flattening Schmeichel.

I thought the funny bit was Evans shoving Schmeichel into Mings

Leicester players should just watch this match over and over to learn how to defend set pieces. Flawless by Aston Villa.

Well done Stevie and Villa.

I think they could be in real trouble. They seem to have become a team that relies on fairly open play, and with that awful setpiece defence they are going to struggle to pick up wins against the bottom half of the table. At the same time, they don’t have the firepower to play with the big sides. Looking at their league December:

Newcastle United
Tottenham Hotspur
at Everton
at Manchester City
Liverpool

plus League Cup against Liverpool and EL against Napoli. They should have enough to beat Toon, whose defensive play is not that robust either. But Spurs is a real bellwether match. Lose that one, and a 4 point December doesn’t look that unlikely.

I don’t think that they will sink into a relegation fight, but by January they may more or less have nothing left to play for this season.

And with the rise of West Ham and possibly Villa that makes things very interesting for Leicester who will be in the middle of a rebuild. Will certainly add huge pressure onto them for summer/new season…

Yes, just too many clubs in that group that have positive momentum compared to Leicester. For example, if Conte’s Tottenham was able to pick up a win over Leicester, it would be a real marker for him.

Already practicing for us.

Interesting you should say that as so much hype has gone to Rodgers about his squad building and player development abilities (all balls) that the fact they have been almost completely reliant on Vardy at one end and Evans at the other has gone completely under the radar.

This is just my distasteful black humour again, mate. I assure you, queen Shiva is quite alright and will not face any knives

In reality, she is my mothers cat. But whenever I visit, I dote on her as if she is my child. I guess it’s some sort of irrational father’s instinct  Anyway, she follows me anywhere, like a dog, whenever I am at my mother’s place.

Robbo and Fab one yellow away from a ban before the end of the month.

Robertson is not so much of an issue considering you’d expect him to get a rest at some point.

And the form of Tsimakas.

Which is why you can expect both of them to pick up a yellow versus Spurs.

Not impressed with Arsenal so far.

Doesn’t look good for Saka…

Good to see him back up.
