Premier League 2021/22 (Part 1)

Everton winning with a fluky penalty but even though they’re at Badison they’re playing like they’re the away team. Totally tedious game and I’ve stopped watching it. Cutting my toenails would be more entertaining.

But you know they will win, is the awfulness of the opposition.

Is anyone else a bit perplexed by how poor Leicester have been this season, i cant seem to wrap my head around it, is it simply down to injuries?

Chatting with my Leciester friend just asked him the same question.

Unfortunately, yes. And that will put them on par with the both Mancs and Chelsea. And still the Blue Noses will complain. And rightly so.

To be fair they had won the title this time last season.

My Leicester friend is as baffled as the rest

Antonio booked after foul on Leeds keeper wasn’t booked immediately but after the ref saw it on big screen and reaction of the Leeds fans, bizarre to say the least but deserved booking.

Yet another example of outcome-based refereeing perhaps? Referees in this league are utterly useless…

I know Rodgers appears to have rehabilitated himself in the eyes of some of our fans and has become something of a tactical genius in the eyes of the pundits but he hasn’t really done anything much to deserve it IMHO. He lapped up the praise for the signings Leicester made when he had very little to actually do with them.

He had them playing some good football when the going was good, as he is capable of doing to be fair, but when the going got tough as it will do for any team in any given season, he once again fell apart and tinkered and fiddled and got done. Twice (Can somebody give me a Halellupep, praise be). He’s in his third full season now and any benefit that has been had from the signings of the previous management team in conjunction with the recruitment team at the time has passed and this is now his team and I personally feel it’s no surprise that they’re finding it difficult. They’ve fallen apart right at the death two seasons in a row, their manager is no fan of, nor adept at, European football let alone the Europa League and Vardy with the older hands in that team cannot go on forever.

Jamie has had a busy afternoon.

One could also argue Leicester City under Rodgers overperformed the last two and a half seasons. Some run of poor form was inevitable. Good challenge for him and them.

Always felt that Brenda would spend what training time he had available to get the players to function in a certain way in the forthcoming game… (Plan A)
When this went wrong or fell apart he never had the skill-set to introduce a Plan B during the 90mins or make subtle tactical tweeks to his teams that brought a positive impact within the games
To me, he utterly and totally relied upon his monotonous bullshit to hoodwink the media, the general public, and more importantly, as he was soooo in love with himself, his spouting’s brought delusions of greatness in his own head…!

Chris Wood in stoppage time!! :joy::joy:

EDIT: did they not give it?

That’s LC in a nutshell. Dodgy defending…consistently.

Leicester got away with a point.

TBH, sort of glad that Burnley did not win that match, and Wood’s goal got disallowed.

Not sure why he moved away from the system with two strikers, Iheanacho played well last season and they looked better with him in the team. Maybe the injuries in defence and poor form of Soyuncu has forced his hand a bit in terms of playing a more solid three in the middle.

A period that also coincided with the decline of Arsenal and Spurs. If those two had stayed at the level they had previously been at and Leicester had still been in the mix for top 4 then yes, they’re overperforming. Leicester was not a bad team when Rodgers took over, as people are wont to forget, yet when that very same team did well it was Rodgers who got the credit for the performances, and quite bizarrely, for the signings as well and it was something he lapped up completely.

He’s a good manager at the very best but also an extraordinarily shallow one.

Seriously, you are kidding yourself. He’s an excellent manager. He turned LC on a dime when he took over. He just beat Man City back to back to win the FA Cup and Community Shield. He racked up everything on offer in Scotland (how’s Celtic doing now). I get people don’t like his personality, but give the guy a shot at really top talent. He will run the table.

Harsh lesson for Leeds, played the game at 100mph until they ran out of steam and then the hammers came on strong and scored 2 and won the game.
