It’s naive because the Fernandinho-Rodri axis will commit 7 yellow card offences between them with only one yellow to show for it. On the the rare occasions they find a transition chance and look for the front three, the tactical foul will come out

I think Utd would relish playing Sheriff Tiraspol in the ECL qualifying.
They are fortunate to have just the one season with no EL points, they might even be able to squeak into Pot 2, which can make a massive difference for the group next Autumn.
But yes, you can see them finishing 2nd, sneaking into the knock-out rounds, and getting absolutely smashed. However, that would still be real progress.
