Rather finish 17th
Maybe only if Everton finish 18th.
Arsenal should be 2-0 up
Anyone starting to see these now as genuine title challengers?
Yes and No !
Look who they’ve played, apart from beating us ( which so far this season is no great achievement ), the only other “top 6” team they have played in Man Utd…and they lost to them. Spurs don’t count as they are wank.
Lets see how they fair as the season goes on and they play City/Chelsea etc
Almost Half the league is above us ![]()
The biggest advantage they have is they likely wont have much of a world cup commitment. Saka is probably the only player they have who is likely to play the majority of minutes for a side that has an expectation of going far. Jesus could play himself into that situation. Saliba possibly as well, especially with Varane’s injury concern. Other than that they have a comparably small contingent who will be involved with most either likely to come home quickly (Partey, Xhaka) or not play very much (Ramsdale, White).
Compare that to City who could have the majority of their core group still involved and playing in the semi finals and with a couple of bad shakes that can result in a really ugly Dec and Jan where a good amount of distance could be put between them.
Yeah I know but Arsenal…come on. 14 points above us…come on.
Before yesterday I was pretty sure we would still finish above Arsenal.
Not worried about Top4.
That’s nice to know.
If it’s any consolation, the teams between 4-6 for the last few seasons have been incredibly inconsistent especially in the last few months of the season. I still think we’ll get top 4 if we manage to string together a half-decent run of results.
Are you joking ? They have been solid all season and we are a roller coaster mostly going down and then up for a couple of false dawns, before plumeting again. Arsenal may not win the leage ( I hope they do), but they will absolutely crush us on points and deservedly so.
Wtf is going on at Villa Park?! 4-0 up.
And Leicester winning by 3. I don’t think their fans will be too thrilled though.
Armstronggggggggggggggggg
lovely. Reverse pass was sublime.
Brentford sacked Frank and got Stevie in without anyone knowing.
Whilst Leicester sacked Rodgers and got in Zidane without anyone knowing.
Theo on, we know what happens now.
We’re not even one third of the way through the season yet.
an injury?
Fair enough, but I will be very, very surprised if we are, say, within 5 points of them and you and everyone else can hold me to that.
Yesterday’s a real gut punch, as we’d be just 2 points out of UCL places had we done the expected. That long World Cup break is a wild card, though. Will depend upon how teams compete out of the gates after.
Legohead absolutely loves a moan. His players certainly enjoy throwing themselves to the ground as well.
