And the bigger problem is these issue compound, or dont. When players who dont have a reputation for embellishment like this win one and dont get raked over the coals for it they get to do it again and again an again, because each time it gets viewed as “he’s not that sort of player.”
If I were Thomas Frank, I would be calling out their diving and cheating tactics in the media over the next week and hope that the ref is strong enough to not be fooled or bullied by the cheating bastards.
And to follow up, every other manager should be doing the same thing in the lead up to their games against the oil cheats
Hoping for a draw.
3points to the Arse - keep the pressure on the Cheaters for as long as possible before they begin to fade… That dive by KDB yesterday will anger them as much as us if they still believe they have a chance of the title
Your head is in the sand, or somewhere equally as unenlightened.
If you cannot observe the biases prevalent in football at the moment then there is no helping you.
I am not obsessed with anyone but Liverpool.
But I am observing inequity that cannot be easily explained away.
The KDB decision is unexplainable, unless you are prepared to consider something is not right.
It’s the Arse for me today (ooh err vicar) , can’t stand Chelsea , think Potter’s well out of his depth , and also think the Augbameyang signing was a sign of a club that can no longer differentiate between its arse and its elbow.
My head is not in the sand, bad decisions happen everywhere all the time, yet people only want to obsess over when its for City or against Liverpool.
Like I said I watch enough football, (probably more than most here as it’s usually what I spent most my weekend day doing) to know this.
No one wants to talk about Douglas Luiz red card for not head butting Mitrovic, no one wants to talk about West Ham’s 2 handball goals that stood against Fulham, no one wants to talk about Spurs last min equaliser standing when Romero pulled Cucurella down by his hair, no one wants to talk about the pen Brentford got yesterday after Wissa lost his balance and fell over, heck no one wants to mention the clear pen on Haaland against Brighton when Sanchez rushed out and caught his foot….we can all see it’s a pen but because it’s a decision which City didn’t get we don’t talk about it. Not me, I don’t need to because I’ve long accepted referees are just inept.
As soon as KDB throws himself over after someone caressed (is the term I’ll use) his heel 40…50 of you jump in here and scream about it. That’s what I call having an obsession over them.
The Arses have been able to put out pretty much their best 10 or 11 every Prem game.
Not sure how Potter has Chelsea lining up this game. With T Silva, it should be 3 CB, so Raheem Stirling will again be misused as a wingback.
Having said that, Chelsea are the sort of team that can grind out a result against the Arses.
None of those other examples you gave went to our direct rivals, who have beaten us to three titles in the last decade through dubious decisions alone.
All teams get soft decisions in their favour. All teams get harsh decisions against them.
That’s not what the debate in this forum on various threads has been about. A lot of posters have put forward good arguments in terms of bias OVER a large sample of games.
They’ve been discussions about the study on Mo Salah being an extreme outlier in being given a foul in his favour. These things cannot be dismissed out of hand.
Otherwise, you are making the same fallacy as those you are pointing out that they jump straight to conspiracy mode.
As always, there are nuances to be discussed. In a season with tight margins, any slight advantage gained has enormous ramifications.
Does $hitty get bad decisions against them? Of course. But what many of us are talking about are the discrepancies over a large number of games. This is where a small difference makes all the difference.
So you agree then there is an obsession with them from some on here? When the only dubious decisions people want to point out is when it’s awarded in City’s favour……failing to acknowledge it happens to every other team.
No; there is no “obsession”. Decisions in other teams’ games are frequently mentioned in this thread.
However, the generous officiating which often benefits Man City directly affects our trophy haul and it is perfectly reasonable to expect our supporters to comment upon these decisions.
You can watch football 24/7 and still miss the point.
City will win the PL this year.
If its by one point then the decision yesterday has significant consequence.
If you cannot see that, then I cannot help you.
As for obsession.
Read the responses from @cynicaloldgit
Liverpool obsessed. And our history will read less because of grand scale cheating, from FFP to match day decisions. All in favour of Man City.
Go figure that out before you throw out accusations.
How has Cucurella become so bad since he moved. Brilliant at Brighton, working under same manager yet plays like Moreno.
If you only choose to acknowledge decisions that go for City then yes how could it not, because there is no obsession over what decisions went in Arsenals favour. (Supposing they’re the team City finish a point over this season)
Me? I choose to look at the bigger picture.
Harry Potter
is struggling at Chelsea, Arsenal look much better so far, the shed is quiet.
Last season the apology instead of a penalty in bitters v city decided where the title went.
Arsenal started this game very well.
Try looking at it with your eyes a bit more open then.
No idea how Jesus didn’t score that.
Wicked ball in by Martinelli.
