The red and black stripes Milanesque kit was their away kit in the Colin Bell era and was what they wore when winning the FA cup during that period. It is something the older fans have attached themselves to as a form of remembering the good times. They have moved away from it multiple times, but a bit like us with the yellow kit, return to some version of it periodically even if only cynically as a retro marketing thing.
