I know someone who did seven years for killing someone with a single punch.
This guy was a right nasty little cunt , from a family of boxers. He’d been doing the same thing for years ; i.e. picking on unknowing (usually drunk) victims and taking them out with one punch.
The lad he killed was a very popular (and harmless) character who just happened to rub him up the wrong way one night. He waited for him to come out of a club and sucker punched him. They weren’t sure if it was the punch that killed him or contact with the pavement but he died almost instantly.
I saw the perpetrator one day after he had been released from prison and the change in him was remarkable. He’d gone from being a loud and obnoxious braggart to someone very quiet and reserved. Prison had clearly changed him , like it does to people. (I knew another bully who hung himself after doing six months inside.)
Anyway , this cunt got what he deserved in my book and , like the mother above is calling for , people who know just how much damage they are capable of inflicting , and are nevertheless reckless deserve long prison sentences.
