Premier League 2022/23 (Part 1)

Nasty landing there.

Missed it, backed up into him when he was jumping for the header? Surprised it barely gets punished.

He’s another attacking mid/second striker brought in and told to play as a more conventional centre midfielder.

Doesn’t seem to have worked to well.

What is Bednarek doing, just leave…they’re there to have your best interest.

One of the funniest/harshest reviews I ever read was describing the return to form of a post-Barca Riquleme by pointing out the number of goals his strike partner Forlan has scored. As in, if you can turn Forlan into a top goal scorer you must be a wonderful player.

For Riquelme see Alcaraz making Walcott looking like predetory striker

The Harry Kane special

This ref booking every Southampton player for any foul they commit.

They’ll keep ignoring it till someone breaks their neck.

Ref is a arse fan yellows for the saints every foul.

Still fuming on the sideline.

Weird defending by Walker-Peters though. Looked like he could just clear it but hesitated then held Martinelli while he was facing away from goal. Poor play.

That one is a textbook example of why it is so dangerous. Martinelli took him out, clear and simple.

I know, he needs to let it go…health comes first and when it’s a question of health then that’s the whole point of having a medical team.

Cracking goal line clearance from Alcaraz

Aye, he looks awful. Total passenger out of possession.

Brilliant from Alcaraz again, and Lavia with a 60 yard pass.

In this golden age of English fullbacks Kyle Walker-Peters somehow has two caps.

A broken record, but Lavia’s composure under pressure is really impressive.

Lavia and Bella-Kotchap should be on our shopping list this summer. They’re two youngsters basically holding Southampton together defensively - and Bella-Kotchap plays that LCB role we apparently want so much.

Wanted Lavia when he was at City, not surprised how good he is.

That was fucking ugly. Should be a retroactive ban.

City’s £40m buy back option doesn’t come into effect until 2024 right?

Chelsea have been heavily linked, we’d be foolish to not be strongly considering him as well.
