Premier League 2022/23 (Part 2)

Sadly this makes them lose even more control of the game that’s why they don’t want to implement it.

Automated VAR is a step in the right direction. The PL using second hand technology is not a good look.

They were, are and will still be a bunch of hopeless amateurs, although with too much money on their hands as is good for them. No surprise there, they remain faithful to themselves.

Anyone got a reliable link to our wage spending in comparison to other PL teams?

I think I’ll enjoy it, PL/CL/PL/CL drains after a while, with the Europa League the games will be of a lower level especially at the start (still some good teams mind) but we probably do start as favourites if we’ve had a good summer (and it’s started well).

It’s a competition to enjoy especially if we do compete for the title, CL you feel it’s going be tough round after round. This season was dismal but even if this team went again with a refreshed pre season I think it would do better, hopefully with 2-3 fresh faces (already one in the bag) we can do well.

Still convinced that Thursday night football puts us at a disadvantage for next season … but we will see.

You spelt “Manchester City’s serial cheating” wrong.

I think we will get top 4 but we are still very much in the building / transition phase.

I think we will benefit from having fewer injury prone players but that still depends on what we sign in the summer. For all the talk of midfielders, I still think we need another dedicated CB.

I’m looking forward to the Europa League. We should see some new opponents and new faces in the team.

Exactly. It should provide us with the opportunity to give young and/or backup players more playing time.

Pity that Jürgen likes to run the “first team” into the ground- it’s his biggest flaw.

In fairness he hasn’t had much choices with all the injuries.

I was thinking more of that meaningless game against FC Midtjylland a couple of years ago, where Jota got injured.

It was a dead rubber but the prize money was £2million for a win, if I remember correctly. In retrospect, it would have been far more valuable in terms of player development and there was every possibility that we could have still taken the cash home.

It will, but i think we’ll cope with it. Depending on transfer business and injuries, i could see us taking it in our stride and competing on all fronts.

The challenge will be less playing a thurs-sun schedule, but more how we adapt when in the weeks we arent in Europe the PL inevitably gives us the saturday early lunch time KO

I will keep saying it until I die, Jota had not been playing very much in the period around that game. He was very much considered a back up in need of minutes in his legs at that point, no matter how much the fans had taken to him.

He probably shouldn’t have still been on in the 90th minute.

Considering how bad our form was for that specific game and the amount of times Klopp has mentioned it there is a certain something about that slot that’s in the players heads now.

One thing beneficial however is due to the lack of CL our matches even say just after the international games have more chance of a Sunday kick off.
