Premier League 2023/24 (Part 1)

Sorry lads I literally dozed off while watching that dross

They’re good for a laugh…

This is a perfect illustration of how 90% of complaints about decisions are people making a conscious effort to refuse to learn what the rules are.

Perhaps, then again many would argue the problem with the rules is that it’s so open to subjectivity, it’s almost never conclusive which is why you have this never ending debacle each and every week over what is or isn’t.

How can people learn each and every rule when the refs aren’t even on the same page? For example you have Mike Dean saying the pen for Villa shouldn’t have stood, you have the VAR recommending the ref over to take another look yet the onfield ref sticks with his original decision? Well what does the “rule book” state?

If you want consistency in the game and to stop the ongoing topic about having consistency, maybe it’s the laws of the game which need to be changed?

Same.

What I saw from both teams doesn’t worry me.

The two biggest net spenders in the transfer window over the past five years have fewer points than us combined.

This is all just hand wavey noise talking about things other than the specific incident you seemingly had an issue with.

There has forever been a rule in place that allows an attacker in an onside position to be passed the ball by a defender and not be offside. The current rule is written to try to cover edge cases like a defender making a hash of a clearance. Some of the edge cases are confusing and contentious, and the wording of the rule is not great, but it becomes a lot clearer when you put it in the context of what it’s trying to accomplish - allowing a defender to pass the ball to an attacker in an offside position and it not be offside. What happened with Beto was not remotely close to that and was not an edge case.

Great goal that. Forest have lost the plot after a good first 20 minutes.

Smashing controlled finish by Amdouni that but how about the pace that young kid showed on this near side…blitz pasted Worrall there.

Amdouni looks to have a sweet left foot.

Right behind that from CHO, sweet as you like.

Sold the kid for 3m, bought Mudryk for 30x that…make it make sense.

Best Chelsea wishing they had this guy for goals.

Two screamers, and twice as many goals as all of yesterday.

Ironic that I instantly thought Watford when I saw Burnley’s kit.

Divock Origi!

He’s gonna score the winner, you just know it.

Oops…sorry Forest.

Mckenna useless there.

Going have to score 2 now.

Burnley could get a booster of a win here just in time for the visit of Man Utd.

Burnley score again. Well taken goal again

Oh fuck off , thats not a handball… wait it is.
