Premier League 2023/24 (Part 1)

How was Paulinha not booked there ?

It’s much harder if you want to challenge their midfield and usurp posession though. Few teams are able to do so against that team, so I don’t think I really agree that Forest is supposed to compete with their possession.

It’s making the effort. I believe City has 90% possession in the first half an hour. Teams don’t make City chase the ball and get their players tired out.

One more game where Guardiola takes the piss and then doesn’t do any substitutions throughout the entire game.

I understand that, but making the effort can be dangerous because you get out of position and then get ouplayed and outpassed. I am just saying that City’s style (and hand picked team) is rather difficult to go up against for less technical players and that on paper Forest cannot really compete.

Yep. But Forest is getting outplayed and outclassed now itself. City can easily put 6 goals past them come end of 90 minutes.

Maybe (but sure, they are getting outplayed).

Teams never do seem to give us the same luxury. We always face teams up for the battle and they come out challenging for the tackles , the aerial balls etc. For City , teams just bend over.

I remember how dispiriting it was for me to watch Man United go on inevitable winning runs that included a lot of 1:0s or single-goal margin wins - on the way to winning the title.

If that felt dispiriting, then an appropriate word hasn’t been invented for the feeling that watching Man City induces. They are a corrupt, perfectly oiled machinery with infinite resources, amazing playing staff, best behind the scenes operators and best lawyers out there. Unless something monumental happens in the court room soon (which is impossible) or Rodri and, say, Haaland suffer season-ending injuries, I don’t see how anyone can go toe to toe with them.

I’m not saying this because I expect us to be their challengers (I don’t, not this season at least) but it’s really frustrating to see Bayern-level of dominance in PL which no one can stop, even though everyone knows it’s rooted in crime.

I think this is mostly due to the various strenghts of play styles. The strenght of City’s is that most opposition teams are unable to get very physical with them and tend to just run and run and run after them, resulting in the picture you paint.

Luton ducking hell :joy:

Waste of time. No doubt they show up against us mind.

Skybet not offering any market for a side to finish on 0-9 points. Shame.

City got a man sent off. What when did that happen ?

Send him off while they are 2-0 then rescind it at a later date.

Seems to have been a direct red card. Finally the cunt Rodri got what’s coming to him. Too little too late though

Also league cup this week so there you go

Ederson needed to get sent off for that.

What games does Rodri miss with that sending off.Is it Wolves,Arsenal and Brighton?

The league cup

Just saw the replay , there’s no way that red card is getting rescinded

I’m not watching and you couldn’t pay me to watch them.

I was being half sarcastic and it’s a league cup game he is out for so it’s all fair
