Premier League 2023/24 (Part 1)

Based on the performance, only from 45 mins mind, he had a poor game but it is ok to slag the other players but not him?

Cash was in my fantasy team.

The whole fantasy team defence was gash… hope Reece James completes that cycle.

It is typical of people to comment on players they haven’t seen before, or are just new to the league/team.

Diaby was excellent, as was Tonali. Torres looked terrible.

:joy:

Cash is also in Saudi FC I mean NUFC’s real-life fantasy football team. In fact cash is the first pick.

No toilets at Brentford…no fans can have a wee or a do …

Interesting that first game Ange has gone with Bissouma and Skipp in CM over Hojberg

Spurs’ goalie is an accident waiting to happen.

Sour face has a big fern leaf coming out of his ear…

Offside!?

What a ball by Madisson, though.

Iffy…knee might play em on

Why is Romero off? I didn’t see him bang his head.

Incident happened about 5 mins ago and required a decent stoppage to check him out. They cleared him then, but…

Already had a clash of heads…as soon as he scored his team mates signalled to the bench…

I find it weird how they clear them and then minutes later have to take them off. When will they learn?

Yeah, it doesnt speak well to the ā€œcheckā€, but you often need ā€œstressā€ to reveal symptoms. It’s likely that the jostling of the celebration triggered something in his response that made them see something they didnt see during the initial check

Should have posted this on Friday, but these pieces are always a good idea to familiarize yourself with before the new season starts

Main issues

  • Added time
  • Stronger earlier action over time wasting
  • Return to the ā€œrespectā€ campaign :joy: :joy: :joy:
  • Stricter control of the technical area (a boundry that Arteta again completely ignored yesterday
  • Slight relaxation over the criteria to give a DOGSO red card for a challenge that results in a penalty. It allows for a slightly broader range of challenges to be exempt from a red card.

Other issues unrelated to the game are

  • the introduction of regular VAR summaries from Webb explaining their decisions
  • enforced concussion breaks for players removed because of a head injury. Im unsure about this one as it encourages teams to not remove players. There is a different sub mechanism that is used for a concussion sub that allows you (and the other side) and extra sub in the game if you call it a concussion sub, so presumably this opens the door to sides not making it a dedicated concussion sub to avoid triggering this.

Somehow, Ryan Mason gets a yellow.
