Because the monies in brown unmarked envelopes had already been delivered. Txiki promised!

there is an opportunity here for both arsenal and LFC… sign DM in January and good chance we win the league

Need a CB surely? Not sure which DM we could sign that would push us over the top, but I’m game to find out.

Likely relegation staved off as well!

Now that it is safe, I am watching the Palace goals. The first one was shockingly easy. Just a straight ball down the wing and they ran through the City defence.

Should’ve signed Ugarte. Our midfield would’ve been perfect. But apparently Klopp isn’t interested in what I have to say, as if I am not 13th in the TAN FPL league.

I can’t understand the table this season and it is hard to understand we lead the league with 11-4-1. Usually that’s not good enough and I don’t think we have been that good really. Many games we have just barely got a result. But I’ll pinch my arm, and yes, it is true. We are top of the league in a season where every other top team seems to have a challening season.

Feels odd but good at the same time.

But fuck me, if we beat Manchester U now, the table is going to look really, really good !

7 points dropped in 4 games in Dec, and that coming off the back of 2 straight draws to end Nov.

true, defense a must… midfield still a bit unbalanced for me… Maybe Thiago’s return will calm it a bit…

…and just catching up with the lockyear news so feeling a bit of a dick now :see_no_evil:

Our coverage was going to lengths to explain there is no known link between this incident and that prior one, for which he had heart surgery to help with rhythm issues. I get not wanting to jump to conclusions, but you dont need a fucking Warren Commission investigation to pretty confidently link them.

At this point, I’m still hoping Arsenal pick up points. They’ll probably drop off eventually, but in the meantime, the more pressure on City/Pep, the better.

I really want to see another proper Pep breakdown, but I fear Mourinho is the only one who can do it.

BREAKINGLuton Town release statement regarding Lockyer

Luton Town have released a statement regarding the condition of captain Tom Lockyer, who collapsed before play was abandoned against Bournemouth. The statement reads:

"We all hope and pray for our leader and captain Tom Lockyer, who is thankfully responsive and has been taken to hospital.

"We don’t know the full extent of what happened and what the next steps are at this stage, but we thank Bournemouth and the medical staff on both sides for their immediate response, which was absolutely amazing.

"We are sorry to all supporters present that players from both sides were in no state of mind to continue with the game after seeing their much-loved team-mate and friend taken off like that, and staff could not carry on with managing the game in such circumstances having had to deal with the situation.

"We thank everyone for the wonderful applause and singing of Locks’ name inside the stadium at such a difficult time. Now is the time for all of our players, staff and supporters to come together as we always do and give our love and support to Tom and his family.

ā€œOur thoughts are with him and them all.ā€

That is much more like what the table looked like before City started pouring billions into it. That great 2008/09 side was top of the table with 11-5-1 on Dec 15, 2008. The year before, 11-4-1 Arsenal. The Arsenal team of 2003/04 was 11-5. Mourinho’s Chelsea juggernaut the next year was 12-4-1. We have just become used to tables with 2, perhaps 3 teams pounding the rest of the league - and sometimes it is just one.

What is this Thiago people speak of?

I didn’t see the game like but, I think City need some defensive reinforcement. Maybe Nat Phillips could do a job there? I’m sure his proto-father -in-law would support the idea.

Yes, I am more than a bit inebriated and typing this has been drained the life out of me.

Goodnight.

(How I hate those squiggly red lines.)

Merry Christmas one and all.

Absolutely. But it hasn’t been enough in latter years precisely because of money. I like an even table better myself but unusual that there is not a team running off with it (usually City).
